You've got guinea pigs? :) (I'm guessing that what the piggies bit is, not actually farmyard pigs. They'd need a lot of room! :rotfl:) I really want a pair of them but I don't have the space or money atm. :( One of my long term goals is to get rid of enough stuff to have room to keep them and to have upped my income enough that I could afford them. As it is, I can barely afford fresh veg for myself! :D (I do eat a fair amount of frozen though.)

I still can't believe that I've got a car! :D After 10 months of bus travel, being able to just get in the car and drive somewhere is amazing. My previous car was a Morris Minor so having a car with a radio that doesn't drop to 20 mph trying to go uphill is actually a huge improvement. :rotfl:

    My list for today. :)

    [STRIKE]Place matched bet with Winner.[/STRIKE] Done. :D
[STRIKE]Put clothes in to wash. [/STRIKE] Done. :D
    [STRIKE]Take out recycling.[/STRIKE] Done. :D
[STRIKE]Look for washing line pole in Homebase.[/STRIKE] Done. :D
    [STRIKE]Hang washing out to dry.[/STRIKE] Done. :D

    That'll do for now.

  • I guess I'm on my own on this thread now. :( Oh well, probably my own fault for not keeping up with the thread at the start. I'll just keep writing, even if I am "talking" to myself. At least I'll get the answer I want that way! :rotfl:

I don't think I've ever told you why I'm here, what my end goal is. And I think it's very important to know what it is that you want to achieve when doing a thread like this. Otherwise, it just becomes a public to-do list, which I think many of my posts have been so far. So I'm going to try doing things a little differently from now on and see if it works for me. I'm going to list my overall goals and make a mini goal that I want to achieve in roughly a month or so and then divide my list up into which goal each thing will help me achieve (or if it's a misc thing). Then at the end of each month, I'll say if I've achieved my mini goal or not or even if I've exceeded it. So, I'll give it a go. (Second post to follow)

  • So, my overall goals.

I don't think I've ever typed this anywhere before and only the two most important people in my life, my partner and my grandma, know about it. My absolute over-arching goal is to go back to university. I've been before, straight from school as so many kids do, and I wasn't ready. I can look back on it now and see that quite clearly. My first year was spent being horribly homesick but getting ok results. The second year, my partner moved to London and was close enough for me to visit him. I'm glad he did as it saved our relationship but it meant that I was travelling from Bath to London as often as I could and that was when I started falling behind with university and running up debts. Eventually, after spending 5 years trying to complete a 3 year course, they kicked me out.

That was in late 2012 and resulted in a massive nervous breakdown that I'm still not completely recovered from. Graduating university is all I've ever wanted since I was a little girl and to have it snatched away from me was the biggest shock of my life. I want more than anything to go back but I've taken out all the student loans that I'm allowed so I'll have to pay full price for it. Also, even if I won the lottery tomorrow (never mind that tomorrow's Sunday and that I don't play :rotfl:), I'm not sure that I'd be ready to start again. I want to get it right this time. Which means ticking a few other goals off first... (Third post to follow, this may take longer than I thought...)
