Tesco 2 for ... (overcharged)

I had to go via a cashier who was far more interested talking to me about my shirt and how he used to watch them before they retired (names of various ex-Stoke players who played for England).
Dammed if they do, dammed if they dont.
Isn't it the customers responsibility to roughly know how much roughly it should come to and check their receipt before they leave the store?
You cant expect every cashier to know the price of every item and every offer that is taking place.0 -
So how does that work out financially? What MPG are you getting? (In other words, is it really worth it financially, taking into account any conversion costs to allow the vehicle to run on such oil?)
No conversion needed. Most DIESEL engine are capable of running on veg oil (though some cheap additives need to be added to the oil to prevent engine problems).
Of cause you DO still have to pay the fuel duty when running on veg oil. Which you need to declar to HMRC yourself (unless the rules have changed recently)0 -

Even without the BOGOF(?)/Two for deal, I save money.0 -
In fairness its not the assistant's fault......after all he didn't miss the offer - for whatever reason the computer decided not to give you the discount.2014 Target;
To overpay CC by £1,000.

A few points:
- it wasn't the assistants fault, the till automatically deducts offers. You can't think every till operator must know what's on offer and manually deduct it, surely?
- the offer on the same veggie oil here has ended at my local Tesco, could well be the case at yours too.
Finally, you can't run most cars on straight veggie oil - well you can, but not for long! Some cars have fuel pumps that really don't like veggie oil, most commonrail systems aren't a fan.
Bosch direct injection systems are the best for it, I saved hundreds in my old Rover 600 diesel. Unfortunately my MG ZT-T diesel wouldn't appreciate it.0 -

Thanks for the tips Matty. Lucky that my car just happens to have a VerteilerPumpe... otherwise known as a Bosch Direct Injection system
And it doesn't have a fuel pump, it's suction based.
Lucky I did all my research before jumping the deep-end eh?0
