Go on Mas, say what you're really thinking.... they're well posh aren't they.

Thinking of you over here in Herts too Spirit.

Maybe a little bit of a posh alert :)

    Oooohhhh
Wish I were having oysters. I wonder if I could get oysters at the weekend. Could I risk it....hmm? I think so!

    Go for it ;)

I don't know, but I think we should fill it with nice things that will cheer up Spirit, like nice cushions, candles and cashmere throws. And in case she is triskaidecaphobic, it should be numbered 12a...

I was in room 414 at the hotel for my workshop last week. I got rather confused and nearly tried to open 415 by accident, after counting two doors on from room 412... then realised there wasn't a room 413!

Ummm who was helping you clear the loft? The gas man? Why?

Hope the OT manages to beat some sense into the council. :D

A friend and I were clearing the loft...not the gas man, although by the noises he was making, I think he may have preferred clearing the loft to trying to sort my heating system out :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

This bloke, the shooter of mother/daughter at the puppy farm. When I heard what he said I wondered if he has dementia. "I had to put those people down". "They wouldn't let me eat" "I am glad those two people are out of my life".

    The wording is peculiar

They are lovely - I like the white ones best. Mine was a Xmas present and orange.... with a fat black mark on it :( I could probably scrape or wipe that off as it's salt.

From £10-£15 on ebay, for ones like I've got. Mine's just a block of stuff with a bulb and a plug. No base, just 3-4 little black feet.

Or there are monster ones, if I won the lottery I'd look at getting a monster one. £275 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-made-HIMALAYAN-SALT-ROCK-LAMP-massive-60kg-UNIQUE-/191329679267?pt=UK_Home_HomeDecor_Miscellaneous&hash=item2c8c2337a3

Looks like there are loads of different styles now .... if I won the lottery I'd fill the house with pretties :) There seem to be some "colour changing" ones, I bet blue/purple's nice.

    Do they get wet?

    Do they get wet?

No. I had mine sitting in a very damp house for 7 years .... in what was mostly an unheated room .... in that time there was probably a total of 1-2 teaspoons of liquid around the base.... and a tiny bit of what looks like rust around the base where the feet are.

They don't get wet, they don't really leach, they don't get smaller over time. I would suggest though that anybody who gets one should stand it on a mat if it's stood on a floor or something that can't be wiped, just in case there's a couple of tiny drips, over time, that they hadn't noticed.

I've had mine it must be nearly 20 years (or more?) in my opinion it is still identical to the day it was bought.

Bottom line is: I've got one, I feel fine with it being plugged in :)
That puts it in the supersafe category of electrical appliances.

It's possible, and I have done it in the past. It's actually quite a lot of work, though, because school policy is that every student's report must be unique, so it has to be quite a sophisticated piece of programming to get enough variability. That means it's only really worth it for long reports (800 characters). With the 250 character ones, it's quicker just to write the wretched things.

I haven't done it for a few years, but last time I did, I had 9 parameters, each of which could take 5-7 values. There was also something that automatically chose whether to link the parts of sentences with "and" or "but" or "although", and some free entry boxes for saying which bits of the exam they'd done particularly well or badly, and any other comments I wanted to add.

I didn't finish them last night. I got too sleepy to concentrate properly. I did some more when I woke up, and then came home from dropping DD at her school and polished off the rest in about 45min plus proof reading and uploading. So I have broken my "no school work on Thursdays" rule, but I think the circumstances are a bit exceptional. The rest of my day off has been good. I went to visit a friend I've known for 33 years and we had a lovely relaxing day together with lunch out etc. :)

Now to catch up on the NPT. :D

That software exists. Free to download. I think it would be easy to implement in a spreadsheet, though.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

On my phone on a sunny morning it looks like a really dirty old master painting of some kind of monkey/ape.

My phone is one of those with voice commands. E.g. I say "Sydney Weather" and it tells me what the weather will be like. For some bizarre reason, the suggested question is almost always, "What are bonobo apes"?

I don't know how many of the nice people know about bonobo apes but they are interesting animals. Most/many are bisexual and their answer to anything is basically vigorous sex.
