Welcome home Spirit, and good luck Lydia.

I've spent most of yesterday dealing with GCAA, Ilyushin Finance (we're looking at Irkut MS-21 over A320/B737, as having seen it, it seems to fit out needs better) and the owner of the FlyGeorgia branding, as we're looking to purchase a name that's been used until 2013.

No hope of the AOC coming through until middle of next year (this is earliest slot we can get), we can't recruit the management team (even provisionally) or place an order with UAC until we have it, and several of us (including the other investors) are starting to get little uneasy about the whole process.

On top of this, I'm trying to deal with financing of a building in Tbilisi for something else (which is in shell condition), then deal with architects, builders and equipment suppliers.

So glad I'll be back in Georgia early Tuesday morning for 4 days, as it's going to be easier to coordinate everything without resorting to Skype :)

I'm going to try to properly catch up over next few days, but can't guarantee anything.

Sue, on the central heating, perhaps the HA could give it a power flush? The system may have a load of sludge in it. It's a bit crazy to replace the whole system before trying that.

Can I ask which car breakdown company you are with?

It is full of sludge but that is not the only problem....the pipes are all wrong apparently (mix of sizes) and the actual radiators themselves are the most inefficient available plus the boiler is on the way out, it's not dangerous (gas safety check last week) but it needs to be replaced as they are barely keeping it going.

Breakdown company is the RAC through my insurance, absolutely lovely chap came out.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Thinking of you Spirit, my dad was one who fell through the cracks in the system and also didn't have automatic involvement with an OT or physio. This was because they released him for the weekend to come back on the Monday for an operation and then decided not to do the op and as a result, no follow on services were organised.

I finally got the OT out last week for him after they had been relying on their doctor to do the referral.....who then didn't, not once but several times despite saying he would.

Just look after yourself, take it easy and reward yourself for the little steps you make in your recovery. They may not appear to be much but each tiny little step add up to an almightly one.

When I've reheated chips from the Chinese, the oil which comes out of them is shocking
My opinion and observations about chips is: Back in the 60s chip shops were run by older couples, they knew how to fry a chip. During the 70s a lot of those chip shops started to be taken over by Chinese people, who started producing various versions of chips, but not "chips as we know them"

Now it's only a few chip shops who actually know how to fry chips and fry them (in lard) .....

So the Chinese are still producing appalling chips - and chip shops are most often producing soggy chips fried in veggie oil (because it's 'healthier').

If they will replace the central heating, that's great. If not, hopefully they can just remove the sludge. Putting in a new condensing boiler will be good. But a new system with new pipe work would be quite an upheaval for you.

The RAC wanted £175 for my new tyre that I eventually got for £115. They seem to regard their breakdown service as an excuse to sell overpriced spare parts, rather than simply getting people going again.

Could you still ask for a reduction on the cost of your battery? It's not the repair man's fault, as he is just issued with a price list, but if you have the cheek you could ring up and ask for some of the money back. Check prices online first.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Thinking of you Spirit, and glad to see you're back home.

Lydia, all the best for the inspection next week. Make sure the work printers have got plenty of toner and paper, and the repairman's on callout notice.

Give the worst students cheap cameras and send them off to take a close-up of the horizon, and not to come back until they've reached it. ;)

Not going to read all today's posts until tomorrow (which is my day off).

Staff meeting attended at work. Got home 7:10pm.
    Marking done.
    Church meeting attended.
18 short reports (250 characters each) done so far.
55 short reports to do tonight.

Oh, and we're getting inspected at school next week.
(The Independent Schools Inspectorate give a week's notice, which is longer than Ofsted do, but they require lots of extra documents per lesson that we're not required to produce in normal teaching.)

If I'm not around much, you'll know why.

Would it be possible to write a computer program along the lines of the Daily Mail Headline Generators to do the reports for you?

Select some parameters for each student (dim/bright, nice/cruel/bully/dull, sporty/pie-lover, arty/sciencey/dumb as a box of rags) and let the words flow.

Quick proof-read and away you go.

Good luck with the inspection. What happens to you personally if it's great/lousy? Do you get a pay rise/the sack/detention?

PS Old Ma Generali and FiL were both teachers. For context.

Just looked online, I would save £20 if I could get them to price match....which bearing in mind the convenience of being able to start the car this morning for the school run and how much it would have cost for taxis etc until one could be purchased this morning (it happened too late for opening hours), it's not really worth the hassle, it really would be a case of swings and roundabouts.

My fault for having such a large, diesel car. Mind you, my brother paid £80 (the cheapest he could find locally), last week and he has a tiny little thing of a car!
