Same here.
All because GDB has built a succah and tonight's the first night to eat in it.
It's looking miserable this year. I have decided to make a completely new structure next year, much smaller as most of the family have moved away. It might even have some sort of rain covering.
DW has made curry soup. I decided, whilst blending it, that it needed a bit of oomph and added same. There will be ructions when DW tastes it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Is she, though?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Dear NicePeople
Today I came home. I wanted to thank you all foryour kind thoughts and wishes over the last 5 weeks.
i have only read a little over that time as i foud it hard to read and type on my phone. i may have missed important stuff and not offered good wishres or commiserations as needed. sorry i have been a bit self absorbed. i do know of chewies lovely news and am thrilled for him and mrs chewie. less thrilledfor pastures with her pet rats.
i have had really good care from the nhs todate the paramedic was here in minutes quickly followed by an ambulance. then excellent medical and therapist input to get me to where i now am . today te chief exec of the hosp came to see me and I felt able to give a truthful account of how good it had been. my oh described it as feeling like a really well run hospital.i know her as a year ago i was project lead for a merger of services that was then abandoned.
nhs care will now be a nightmare and i have been advised to have private rehab and then fight the local commissioners to fund it. unfortunately where i live i fall into a black hole and am not eligible for the level of support I need. it is a post code problem . if i lived in the right boundary i would get therapy input every day from ot or Physio at home, and expect a good level of function as it is i have been told i will get a visit once a fortnight which will lead to a longer recovery time and higher risk of long term disability. the ceo of the hosp will write to support my complaint. I do not have the energy for a fight so my poor OH will have to take this on along with his new carer responsibilities. i have about an hour of rehab exercises to do each day that i need support with and need help to dressand put my shoulder brace and foot splint on. we are having the bath taken out and a wet room to replace it .life has got unexpectedly expensiveand future income less certain.0 -
Dearest spirit, how wonderful to have you back with a big screen.
You don't think the good wishes stop now do you?
Thursdays are spirit day! 7:30 pm is the time we try to light candles or whatever, though some do other times ( home work, commutes, living on wrong side of planet, all that kind of thing gets on the way)
Seems tomorrow might be last formal one, but might as well be a good one with you at home, right?
Pastures new, candle phobic, even bought a candle. If that's not a symbol of how much you are adored around the nice parts I don't know how better to express it.0 -

Excellently said LIR. Very much doubt I could put it any better so I'm not even going to try.
The best wishes definitely don't stop here. I won't be able to join in Spirit Thursday tomorrow as working out when 7:30 is will be a bit tricky, but I will be thinking about you wherever I am. I often do.
Might not be around much for the next few weeks, but I hope you settle in well back where you belong Spirit.
Much love xxx0 -
So glad to hear you are safely home Spirit! :j
What a shame you can't get the help with rehab you need without a fignt. But I'm sure you will do fine, I guess it's just a matter of plugging on and doing your exercises and your OH writing letters on your behalf.
Vibes and love from Liverpool.

Glad you are home Spirit, though saddened that you don't automatically qualify for the support that you need. I'm so pleased for you that in general the prognosis is good, even if the road to get there may be a bit winding at times. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I don't think any oil got in the toaster. These chips had been cooked previously, so I was just heating them up.
When I've reheated chips from the Chinese, the oil which comes out of them is shocking :eek:lostinrates wrote: »Lol....fir can drive

Some people get all obsessive and make breastmilk butter and breastmilk cheese for their little darlings when they start giving them solid foods. I really CBA with all that. He just gets milk now and when he's 6 months old he can have milk + grub.
That just seems so, well, not right. :undecided:undecided
Particularly just after watching the Great British Bake Off final!
Have got the Horizon cats programme on at the moment - some quite unexpected images of them eating caught prey ...0
