That's exactly the reason I use a toaster! Plus I go through half a loaf of burned toast before I get a decent slice if I use the grill. I'm quite easily distracted.

Timing usually works out perfectly for me with grill, with no time to get distracted.

Its a sort of dance of routine that has to be obeyed though for perfection. Things like wanting a cold drink instead of a hot one throw routine out ever so slightly so make for slight awkwardness.

I heated up chips in the toaster the other day! Makes them nice and crisp, but you do see the amount of oil oozing out.

We have one of those toastie makers that go in the toaster, so I put the chips in that.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

We only have Yorkshires with roast beef... Pork with apple sauce and roasties and broccoli and kale and gravy and super crackly crackling and just no space for Yorkshires as well! :o My appetite is getting smaller and smaller. Just can't eat a big roast dinner the way I used to. :(

I am one of those "Yorkshires with everything" types :)

I deliberately set my toaster to pop up before anything's toasted. Then I can put something in without watching it .... and when it pops up I turn it round/over and stick it back in, knowing that this time I have to stand and watch it finish.

I bought some toaster bags (out of curiosity/£1 shop) - they're much larger than my toaster, so no good :)

It's taken me years to have the nerve to even buy them .... I don't understand why they wouldn't catch fire.

Genius .... but I'd be scared they'd catch fire due to the oil!

I Checked one lot out, and they are made out of Teflon. So, you can use them in the same conditions as you would use a nonstick frying pan.

These were oven chips, which are cooked in the oven at around 200C. I think the temperature inside the toaster is less than that, so hopefully no great fire risk.

I stuck the toastie holder under the tap to clean it.
