Apparently Aberlour single malt is on offer in Tesco, so I might treat myself while staying up to watch the results
I don't know much about whisky but I've liked other Speyside ones I've had so I'll give that a go I think.
IIRC Aberlour isn't a typical Speyside whisky. Although people who like Speyside malts do often like it, it's also about the only Speyside that's also popular with those who mainly prefer Islay whiskies. Let us know what you think of it.lostinrates wrote: »Thanks for the reminder pn!
Yes, thanks PN. Lighting candle now.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Has anyone seen that nice Victoria Sponge I bought earlier? It's gone missingEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Well, I'm glad I lit so many candles, as I did the lightening turned up big style, and I had a short power outage.0

Does lightning/thunder spook any of your animals? Avatar dog used to hate it. He would either try to hide behind the TV and get tangled up in the cables, or try to dig a hole in the carpet - presumably to hide in.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? No,
The cats like to watch it sometimes ( they love fireworks) dogs just don't care really. They have never had a negative experience though. Lightening tends to mean exciting running around sorting things then snuggling inside, or just snuggling inside, so its all good0 -

Avatar Dog was 5 when we got him (as a rescue dog) so have no idea what experiences he may have had before then. Quite apart from fear of fireworks/thunder, he was also terrified of being alone in a car. Not at all worried about being in a car with people - hopped up into the boot of the estate car when invited without a care in the world - but terror-struck to the point of vomiting if left alone in the car even for the length of time it took the human to go into the petrol station to pay for the petrol and come straight back. If we were together, one of us had to stay in the car while the other one paid for the petrol, and at motorway services we had to take it in turns to stay with him while the other one went to the loo etc. If one of us was on our own with him, we'd have to let him out of the car and tie him up with his lead while we paid for the petrol or whatever. Fortunately he got over that fear after he'd been with us a few years. Must have worked out that whatever it was that used to happen to him wasn't part of his life with us.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
