Nice one Spirit. It's not just the ability to walk a (presumably) short distance, nor the abilty of nurses, family and friends to patronise you as a result, it's the dignity gained. Who wants to push a bloody button each time she needs a wee?

My ipad wants to install ios8, but it needs 6.9 gb free to do that. The whole thing only has 12 gb with 10 gb used up by apps and stuff. What should I do?

I suppose the answer is to back everything up to cloud or PC then take it off the ipad. Backing up to the PC involves installing iTunes software on the PC, which I don't want. But maybe I'll have to.

Just had a weird phone call. Female voice addressed me by name and said she was from a company I hadn't heard of. Asked if I could confirm I was the homeowner, and said they were having a draw to give away £800 vouchers - didn't specify any further details. She asked me to confirm that she'd got my postcode right, and whether I was between 35 and 65, which it seemed harmless to acknowledge. Then she asked me how old my kitchen is, so I said it was installed by the people I bought the house from and was a bit vague about how long ago they might have done it. Then she rang off.
It feels dodgy to me, but I can't see that I've given her any risky information - beyond, I suppose, that this number still belongs to a real person, which I kind of acknowledged by answering the phone in the first place. I was waiting for the bit where she asked me a question I would refuse to answer, but we didn't get to one. Have I been stupid? What should I have done differently? Is there anything I ought to do now to mitigate the effects?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Can always back up to the cloud, through the ipad settings. But then you need to have confidence that the cloud (a) exists and (b) you will be able to download from it when the time comes.
