It will be uncomfortable for a little while. And it will bring gravel in. But its feet will toughen up well fore they are fed up of sweeping up gravel in side. Their floors ( if they are hard surfaces) will get scratched too.
Dogs pads are destined to be tough and durable. They are their shoes. They are NOT impenetrable, and I personally would go for the round gravel ( for my feet too) but we can get feet tough enough to walk over gravel too. When I used to walk barefoot all the time it was ok, I felt it, but it wasn't 'painful'.
Theoretically, it will be more comfortable than a bigger heavier dog, and think how many dogs cope with gravel drive ways.0 -
Well, I'm sitting inside watching Time Team.... but still know they've just measured up for, and ordered, some astro turf
And it's only just occurred to them .... they need to paint their side of the fence.... by scrabbling up the 1' gap between the conservatory and the fence.... and they're working out who will do that bit.0 -
Knowing that people are supporting you through whatever is a very powerful thing.
I got a mini round of applause in the office this afternoon for my writing efforts today. Not sure I'd done quite enough to merit that, but it was quite nice all the same(as, of course is all the encouragement I get from you guys - it plays a huge part in keeping me going).
Well done Nikkster! :T Hope it continues to go OK, will you feel able to take a bit of time off over the weekend for the garden? Or is the weather going to spoil that? Apparently we are due rain this evening, and some tomorrow, but where we are on the peninsula it often doesn't do what they predict! :rotfl:
We haven't had an update from Masomnia - hope he got his thing handed in in time! And is now enjoying chilled wine!0 -

It's almost like we have new NP. Do you know what colour they're thinking of so we can offer opinions?ukmaggie45 wrote: »will you feel able to take a bit of time off over the weekend for the garden? Or is the weather going to spoil that?
I think it is just forecast to be overcast here rather than rainy. I'd like to get about half a wheelie bin done this weekend, then I only have half a wheelie bin to fill next weekend.
I need to re-do the hanging baskets at the front of the house (at the moment I have two completely dead hanging baskets by the door... classy!) and probably get rid of the lettuces that have bolted (I have other things to plant up anyway).
So yes, I'm hoping to get into the garden for a bit of fresh air and something different.0 -

I've put it off.. but things are growing over the shed.... I should use my new loppers to stop that..... and thistles need removing from the front again (and some bind weed).
I need to get weedkiller.... two questions:
[a] What sort, name, brand?
How do you use it?0 -
We put four babby chickens out tonight. Karl largerfeld, unnamed boy, one unnamed not sure ( who looks like a girl but screamed like a boy) and a definite girl, who is delightful. We'll see how they go tomorrow and think about moving more tomorrow. Would rather have done one move but KL and noisey not sexed yet screamed like banshees and upset the apple cart.0

It'd have been easier if your hobby were knitting chickens, instead of rearing them0 -

The kids will be able to get into the one foot gap to paint the fence green. Then, all they will have to do is get the green off the kids.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

LOL, OH used to get sent up into the bows of the boat to paint inside them when he was small. We never managed to persuade our girls to do that... But now we have three grandsons! <evil grin> Scurries away to make plans for next year's boat painting! :rotfl::beer:

That's really pretty....love planting trough thingys.....what is the bubbling water in the rectangle thing to the left?We could call in our resident fashionista (fc)lostinrates wrote: »I've been thinking nice peeps.
spirit is a woman who marks things.
She likes to mark the ceremonies and anniversaries of life and nation. One minute silences, lights outs, all that jazz.
I was wondering if while she's mending we could have a minute for spirit, just a minute of good thoughts once a week. Where all that good energy she has put in for other things is reflected back at her, Maggie in Liverpool style, in good vibes/wishes/ prayers/ hope. Whatever your style is?
Anyone else thing this is a good idea?
I'm in.
A candle/light moment at a certain time?
Sorry to hear about your mates Dad Dooz. Is it just me but I seem to hear of a bad illness or death every week at the moment (friends of friends etc)
Looking fwd to this weekend as 1st one for ages when there is nothing going on. Since we finished the house we've had guests every weekend and the partee last week consumed tons of time. Mopping floors at 1am was not fun.....but better than facing un-mopped floors on Sunday am.0
