I have a feeling with these things that if you touch them once, it becomes a neverending cycle. Where the reputation comes from, I think.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

And some things you just don't need to see again :eek:0 -
Got (literally) a few quid call credit left on my old phone and am about to port the number to my new one.
I thought I'd have to forget the money but found out I can send it via text to Macmillan Cancer support, so that's where it will go.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I have a work colleague who says "LOL" - not the letters, the "word".
Makes me cringe.
I prefer "Lol" to "el-oh-el". I do sometimes use "Lol", but only when reading out email that has LOL written in it to OH.Wouldn't use it in conversation though.

Dunno why it is stressing me though, results take 2 weeks to come through.
I hope the biopsy went OK. Sending vibes to your Dad, and to you too - it's horrid when parents have nasty stuff going on. Hugs.
Yep gloss and dogs is a no.
We don't have dogs, but we do have GrandTwins plus another GS, so we kind of decided to go for dark colours on the cupboards. But we have high gloss ivory on the top cupboards, brings more light into the room to counteract the dark of the base units. Can recommend the guy that did kitchen for us, and he had some good ideas when we got a bit stuck too. Price matched or lower than best internet prices I could find. Nice bloke too, which always helps. His fitter was really good, but I gather he's left to concentrate on the Judo he and his GF do. Anyway, if you want to come over to see him PM as he's just down the road and you can inspect his work and have a cuppa!
This pic gives a bit of the idea - there's a run of cupboards to the left too, you can just see the end of them. And a set of pan drawers too. This was when work wasn't finished, never did get round to the full set of "after" photos!kitchen from diner by ukmaggie45, on Flickr

The idea of me getting any work done during the holidays is almost laughable.
Everything else is more. More shopping, more entertaining, more washing up, more interruptions. I have a headache from trying at the wrong times and then not feeling motivated when there seems to be a longer period of quiet.
I really prefer working away from the house.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The school summer holidays are bl00dy tough for lots of parents, me included. It's not fashionable to admit this. We are all supposed to have a wonderful time seeing more of our kids and less of our adult friends while simultaneously getting loads done. Please cut yourself a bit of slack. Kids are awesome, and yours seem to be lovely, but their habit of interrupting everything the parent ever tries to do is enough to drive most normal people nuts. You sound as though you need to use the quiet bits to have a rest. Take it. Your sanity is more important than anything else, because if you push yourself too hard you'll be too frazzled to be effective even when you do work.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
If summer holidays were universally meant to be joyous for parents there would not be so many summer activity things0

Just to balance things out, I used to dread school holidays and count down the days until school started again.
I get my temper from my motherI love her very much indeed, and I'm can now realise she was dealing with a lot of 'stuff'. But she had a fearsome temper when we were younger.
I look at kitchens with 3 different colour cupboards and think that they must have bought 3 end of range deals and are happy with the mish-mash its created!0 -

I realise it though, which helps. I refuse to get riled very often because when I do, I do.;);)

I thought they'd included 3 colours in the photo so you could see what the colours they offer look like. Not that they would offer them all in the same kitchen!
Yes I think so too. Took me a few minutes to realise, though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
