I'm so excited for you and waiting for the next instalment. Maybe as follows:
8.40 - He's looking puzzled and whistled through his teeth.
8.50 - He's got back in his van and driven off in the direction of the local greasy spoon.
I bet he is really down the greasy spoon..... any NPs passing this way later on today might like to keep an eye out for the BBQ at the green box later.
This now moves my day plan into "Oh dear, looks like I'll miss Heirhunters today".0 -

You didn't tell him about the all you can eat breakfast at the Toby, did you? You won't see him until 11:10!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I doubt I had to ... it's probably a local standing "date" .... there's another all you can eat between here and the exchange; maybe they all meet up there every Monday at 9am.0 -
16.00 They are having a hoe-down, and they've invited all the neighbours. Why haven't I been invited?!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Got heirhunters on.... annoyingly, due to the Commonwealth Games being on BBC1, it's on BBC2 and starts at 9 (not 9.15).0

16.45 Sue in the complaints department apologises for the lack of invitation to the hoe-down and promises that a manager will call you to discuss it within the next 48 hours.
You explain that being excluded from your own telephone outage hoe-down is very distressing, and she asks whether you would like to be forwarded on to the BT therapy helpline. You are then left hanging on hold, listening to soothing music, interrupted every few minutes by a voice telling you how incredibly important your call is to BT. After 33 minutes on hold, the line goes dead.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Interesting one on heirhunters. Woman of 102 died, only child. Had no aunts/uncles or cousins.
They then went back to her grandparents (born 1820 or so) and found her grandfather had married twice. They found his first marriage, he'd had one child with his first wife, who had married but her husband had died a year later..... so that was the end of it .... except they checked the woman for illegitimate births and found one, that then produced a big downline.
Then the BT man came back and I missed the rest....0 -
BT Update: It might, or not, be working. I've been given the (temporary) phone number that it will be, once it's switched on.
He said "Can't switch it on until finished the job, which is very unusual"
I now have to wait to see if the line's activated, later today .... and if it's not, then I have to phone the service provider.
Then, I have to wait for the woman from the "special team" to phone me (today she said), who will then switch the number over from what it is, to the number she's reserved for me (the number I was originally told it'd be when I organised this all at the beginning of the month.0 -
Did the BT man look bloated, from an all you can eat breakfast gulped down in under an hour?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I am so pleased for you that this is all happening in such an exciting way. Bags of fun and interest for you. Other telephone providers don't provide this level of service.
This woman from the special team. That's special in a nice way?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
