Having said that I agree that by and large trains are way better now than they used to be. I can remember when I first starting commuting that there were carriages on the tube that dated from not long after WW2. I love the new Met Line with its air conditioned gorgeousness. .

    I miss little individual carriages.

You can still do that as an "experience".

Since I moved in I've noticed there's often one fly in here.... and, like now, one tiiiiiny fly. I've NEVER been bitten by "mozzies" as people call them.

Earlier I noticed a strange raised lump on my upper chest; 10 minutes ago I noticed the same close to my inner elbow. They itched. I've just spotted a tiiiiny fly - and I think I am having my first ever mozzie experiences!!!!

I hope not; hope I've not bought into a hot spot for them too!

Just like to say, its not toms butter loss that makes him seem attractive to me, its his dedication, determination and humour along the way. Tom, I think you're lovely.

More than surely? A pound is 454g innit?

Yes of course. Silly me. Thanks. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

It's more the cost of travel now that is expensive... not so much in London which is still well priced IMO, more so into the capital from outside. There's a real ramping up of prices once you get outside of the tube map area.

Grateful we are (just) within the boundary, though not technically in London.

PN, invest in some citronella candles for the garden.

    Tom, that is really impressive.

Lydia, when you talked about clearing the mortgage from the compensation I assumed the inquest had happened. Doesn't the blamed party have to give you compensation, so the inquest decides who is the blamed party?

I'm taking my girthy courgette into work tomorrow :rotfl: It's from one of the plants I swapped with a colleague, so it only seems fair that I take it to see her (she asked!):
