  • NSD 6 for me today, and my landlord paid me back for the window cleaner so I've made money. Listened to the cricket while reading, and will concoct some kind of lentil, rice, and veg one-pot dish for dinner tonight, using up the carrots and celery which are starting to go soft.

I've had a busy week and bagged 2 more NSDs. Would have been 3 but caved in and went to Subw@y yesterday after an awful morning. So my total is now 7 NSDs :) even managed one on Wednesday when we went out for a meal as OH paid (on the proviso I paid today) tomorrow might be one provided I have all the cake ingredients I need!

    Oh Gawd.....
Should have been at least a low-spend day today,but........
I drove my 5yo daughter to a retail park, where she was going to Pizza Hut for a birthday party. When we got there,we saw a birthday party, but it wasn't the one we were looking for.I double-checked the party invitation, and we'd only turned up a day early :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway, since we were there,I went into the Tesco, ostensibly to buy some scones+cream, which 12yo daughter had asked for,and milk.£20 LATER  :(.I was annoyed with myself, not only the fact that it was £20,but the fact that, apart from £3.50 on several cartons of juice, and some frozen peas, the rest of it was junk food, because I just fancied it!

Really need to start looking more carefully at how I spend money.I write down every penny I spend each month. The other night I did abit of toting up,and in June I spent just a fraction under £200 on "school stuff".Now,some of it was unavoidable:final payment for son's residential trip in October, breakfast club for 3 kids one morning when I had to drive to an appointment 3 hours away (£7.50),school trips, etc, but there was also too much spent on school fairs,"enterprise week",PTFA events.

I am also aware that I have fallen off the Slimming World wagon(have been at target for 2 years),so doing too much impulse buying on rubbish snacks. This also took a fair wack of the budget last month.

I know alot of the spending and eating is a reaction to the rubbish that is going on in my life at the moment, and I look forward to life getting back to normal (it may still be months).

    Sigh.

NSD 8,9,&10 for Tues, Wed & Thurs, put into 2 work collections Friday and bought cake, and yesterday contributed towards a McD which I enjoyed but wouldn't have had if I'd been out on my own, but hey that's the price you pay for company sometimes :D

    Hi Beanielou

Thanks marmite, sorry to hear you are still unwell, but glad things seem under control.
