Oh dear try again, the oil is only solely yours when and if you go it alone. As we're still one country I fail to see why you merit the extra cash.
I'm genuinely relaxed about Scotland's place in the Union, but if you guys decide to stay then the present inequitable arrangements need to change in my opinion. Further devolution and the proposed tax raising powers should sort it out.
It's not about being ours...
Everything belongs to the UK just now. But if you're breaking it down to the economic activity and wealth created in each individual country, the revenue created from the rigs is in Scotland's coastal waters. Just like any revenue created from fishing off the coast of Cornwall is in England's coastal waters and would be deemed wealth created by England to go towards the UK coffers.
It all belongs to the UK, but, you said it yourself. If Scotland were independent then any oil revenues would belong to Scotland, so, in the Union it must be seen as a Scottish contribution towards the UK. Anything else is framing the argument unfairly. We’ve had to remove your signature. If George Galloway is now the poster boy for the "No" Campaign, then be prepared for a huge boost to the "Yes" campaign.
Deary me, why won't Cameron grow a pair and debate the subject?
Didn't he say he would fight for the Union "with every last fibre":wall:

What we do know is that all Nations in the UK have become steadily richer during their shared history as members of a shared country.
Can you advise a country which has become poorer in the last 300 years?:wall:

I was reading at the weekend that the UK doesn't even have a strong relationship in Europe, let alone the world.

It seems that the UK is weak in Europe and losing Scotland will only make the RoUK weaker.
this is why Cameron and Co are so keen to keep the union.:wall:

Because Salmond will turn it into a scots v english debate. Of course he won't make it quite so obvious, he's a very slick operator.
But when Cameron points out flaws in the Yes vote campaign, Salmond will trot out his "old westminster establishment telling scots what they can't do" propaganda.
Of course we all know what he means by 'old Westminster', he means the English.
Fortunately Cameron is smart enough to realise this.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

I think Cameron is smart enough not to "get in the ring" as leaving it a beaten man will not do him or his party any good.
To debate with Salmond is a no win situation for him, so he keeps an arms length distance, able to shout the odd comment, but not close enough to be struck by any debate comment himself.
If Independence prevails, he can effectively blame Darling and Co.
If it doesn't prevail, expect him to step forward and pronounce victory.
Quite cowardly really.
He's losing the EU debate and he's to scared of the Scottish debate.:wall:

You're certainly correct to see it as all spin and racism and correct to see that Cameron can't win against that.
And he is, currently, losing the EU debate as he wishes to retain independent sovereign nation state
I guess if the YES vote win, then Scotland will 'win' the EU debate too by giving up all their new found independence and a lot more to the like minded Juncher. He and Alex are two of a kind so should get on well.0 -

there is no racism despite your desire for there to be someAnd he is, currently, losing the EU debate as he wishes to retain independent sovereign nation state
Isn't it Ironic, don't ya think.... that Cameron wants to retain an Independent Sovereign State yet is against Scotland doing the same?I guess if the YES vote win, then Scotland will 'win' the EU debate too by giving up all their new found independence and a lot more to the like minded Juncher. Could this possibly be that if Scotland was part of the Union and RoUK was not, that Scotland would conceivably be in a stronger position in Europe than the RoUK?
P.S. the last bit is a wind up:wall:

Yes, I think it is quite possible Scotland could be in a relatively stronger position in Europe than RoUK; but you wouldn't be independent.
However you would be free of the hated English so all would be well.
A double win for some of the Scottish.0
