Cyclists and road traffic signals...

Neither are of any relevance, neither refer to speed limits for cyclists nor have been ever used for cycling speed enforcement - the original person was correct in stating that speeds limits defined in law for motor vehicles do not apply to cyclists although in reality few cyclists will be able to consistently exceed motor vehicle speed limits.
John
They all have, specifically speeding is covered by byelaw and certainly limited in a Royal Park though. You can argue the speed limit doesn't apply to cyclists, which it doesn't, but can be covered by bye law though.0 -

I pay for the roads they drive!!!
Brilliant.
The funny thing is there are actually people who really think and believe that.0 -

We all pay for the roads through our taxes, not just the not-so-careful drivers bombing along the road without any regard for other road users and pedestrians.0 -

Exactly we all pay - even folks who don't own a car - or a bicycle.
Just like we all pay for schools - even if we have no kids.
Life is so unfair isn't it.0 -

I'm a cyclist and a car driver. It's a complete waste of time moaning about cyclists going on the pavement, jumping red lights, riding with no lights at night etc.
Nothing will ever change unless some sort of law is brought in and that won't happen as it would be impossible to enforce.
It's illegal to ride a bike on the pavement and at night with out lights as it is, I've never seen the Police stop a cyclist for either.
Just forget them0 -

There are laws in place and they can be enforced when the police have the will to do so. Operation Safeway in London resulted in more than 4,000 cyclists being fined in just a short period.0 -
This morning on the A309 coming up to Ditton Common arrived behind a pair of experienced looking cyclists, certainly all the gear and dressed appropriately for road rodents. By their speed they were obviously going to manoeuvre in some manner or other but not signalling anything, just abreast each other ( on a 40 mph limit main road) and weaving about . I gave them a very short beep as I was worried someone might overtake, it is that sort of road. At this they appeared to regain cognisance stuck their arms out and turned right across the common. I really am surprised, I have cycled a lot and always considered the first rule of self preservation was to keep you wits about you.You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0
