Faulty Trampoline

Hi All

We purchased a large £500 trampoline from a well known outdoor toy company.

These things take a day and a half to put together.

Subsequently after only 3 weeks of use the railing bars broke and the main welded leg strut snapped.

It's been 2 months and we have had to chase and chase them for replacement parts. I also requested that they send someone to inspect the trampoline since in my opinion the design is potentially dangerous for the kids and is poor since one of the main leg supports is welded and this should not fail as it did.

They refused to send anyone to fix the new parts or come and inspect the trampoline.

They have offered a full refund but only if I spend a whole weekend dismantling the darn thing.

Am I within my rights to insist they send someone to check the safety of my trampoline?

Can I look to get compensatation for loss of enjoyment since the kids have been unable to use the trampo for most of the summer?

Welcome some help

Thanks

We are only 5 days into summer!

I think they are being reasonable by offering a full refund - there is no law that says you can demand a company representative to attend to review the safety of it.

Can you post a link to the product? I struggle to see how any trampoline can take a day and a half to build.

I struggle to see how this much assembly can be required, and the fault not potentially be poor assembly.... If it's not put together properly, then weight could be unevenly distributed, causing the problems...
