Maggots, sex and moneysaving

Sorry if you are reading this at a mealtime.
Over the last few weeks I have been finding maggots on my kitchen ceiling. Usually one or two at a time and yesterday there were four. I just brush them off but new ones do appear.
If my wife finds out, she will insist on an extermination squad cleansing the house at huge expense, we will fall out and sex won't be happening chez bribri for a while.
How can I deal with this problem in a moneysaving way and maintain relations?

Nothing of any help to offer, but wanted to say what an eyecatching thread title this has!! This could have easily been the most gross thread ever with a title like that

Actually, I do have something to offer (!) Could there be a dead mouse under the upstairs floorboards? We had a horrid smell in the kitchen once which turned out to be a couple of dead mice under the floorboards. ( we had a mouse problem and landlord put poison down - had several dead mice to dispose of but didn't know about these until they started to smell)0

Yes same here (only ours was a dead rat!!!!)
Look under floorboards above0 -
on the ceiling! What a peculiar place for maggots. found this http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Science/Question155201.html seems to concur with the something dead under the floor also found this http://www.e-bug.net/forum/messages/9228.shtml interesting. Google it lots of people have been there
After reading further It would seem likely they are moth larvae.0 -

There are no odd smells. I live in a first floor flat so the upstairs is the loft and I do go up from time to time. But now I am worried that there is something in the loft
We do have a food recycling bin on the kitchen units which does attract flies but why would the maggots end up on the ceiling?0 -
Bite the bullet, tell the misses and have the house done. I have to say I would not/could not live with maggots falling from the ceiling.Loving the dtd thread. x0
