You don't need to ask the zoo - that product is sold. The idea is that household cats will be fooled into thinking they have strayed into big cat territory.
Sadly it doesn't work - maybe it would in areas where there are wild big cats but I found that the cats around my place haven't come across too much lion and tiger piddle so it didn't faze them at all and they continued to leave their turds in my garden.0 -
We had a problem in one corner of the lawn and border and I have had success with this - soak used tea bags in jeyes fluid and put clusters around the affected area , I also put a cluster by the fence where I think they were getting in and the problem has stopped .
The cats don't like the smell apparently and it is pretty strong !! The tea bags just disintegrate into the soil.0 -

If you use a supersoaker water pistol, put a tiny tiny amount of washing up liquid in the water - it will make the water wet the cat's fur a bit rather than just running off the waterproof cat - might help the cat remember the unpleasant experience!
Sonic devices can sometimes work - hand-held ones have a choice of screech or "inaudible to humans" (which I can still hear - oooh!).
Of course both of the above rely on you being around to catch them in the act.
I got some 8' bean poles (actually got green metal ones that are bobbly like a crocodile's back) and put wire netting between them. The poles were about a foot above fence height by the time they were stuck in the ground. I looped the wire (2" diamonds size?) over the poles, but left the top two or thee diamonds loose so that I could curve it back towards my garden and make a longer distance for the cat to dare to jump. Seems to have helped.
Worst cat poo incident for me was on an ornamental grass planted in shingle. Grass had only been in a week & some wretched cat had compressed and woven the poor grass and left cat poo on the platform. Grass almost died0 -
Pieces of carpet grippa rods placed tack side up on affected areas did the trick for me.0

Well, the forum members are treated like school kids and rude words like (text removed by the forum team) protects who? Walk down any street or travel on public transport and you can hear much fruitier language.
I called one forum member a wally because the question it asked was completely idiotic and my post was removed because the wally was so sensitive.0
