I stopped using free cycle ages ago when I got sick of being messed about.
Our local tip has a section for stuff that can be reused so now I just drop the good bits off there when I'm on a tip run.

Ditto - we always drive past the 'good stuff' & usually take back more than we drop off. Donations money goes to local schools.
Fabulous posh push chairs there for £3 - owners couldn't be bothered to clean them ...

Same here, hasn't been the best of starts

But it can only get better from here :D

Yep, toss it back please :D

Just had a look at 617, think it took me a few goes but wasn't too bad :)

I've finished Candy proper and am currently blowing off steam with Odus level 289. Now that one IS annoying :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry you've been having a bad time QOC, these things do all come at once as we have found out lately, but surely we must both be due some good luck for a change :D

With our freecycle messages have to be moderated or at least mine do. I know the moderator is not at his or her computer day and night but even so if you write a new message it can be most of a day before it goes live. For instance when I had spare Rhubard my thoughts were to advertise it in the morning, get replies through the day and people collect afternoon or evening - instead it was 7.30 at night before the message was reviewed and put up.

I've got 2 things to freecycle now and I've re written the messages twice but nothing seems to be happened. perhaps there is only one moderator and they are on holiday for 2 weeks.

I did stop for a while but it grieved me to chuck out stuff that still had plenty of usage left - our tip doesn't have a 'still useful section'. The crunch point for me a couple of years ago was when I was offering a really nice Nathan wall unit (new ones were selling for nearly £1000) and the demands that people made, even insisting that I would have to arrange transport for it, got to me.

The good news is that I THINK I have a taker for the bed - if she turns up this afternoon!

    Thank you :A

There are cocktails on the menu :D

I am never, ever following a Delia recipe again.

My fault as well I suppose, although i'd been sat there for almost two hours watching and stirring it, leaving the room seemed to kill it off :(

This morning it is well set but very sticky and syrupy. I suspect i'll have to bin the lot off :(

Don't bin it! If it is too solid, take a bit out of the jar, add a bit of water and microwave gently and mix. I've even sometimes had to mix in some of the really dirt cheap value marmalade to get a better consistency. If it is too runny, try keeping it to add to next batch - you can make lemon marmalade (sets easily) and add this. Or use it in baking as secret ingredient whenever it asks for orange zest. (You may also need to cut down on sugar in your recipe.) I've used it in orange cheesecake, fruit cake, and bread pudding (solid cake stuff not b&butter pud) made with whoopsie bread. Haven't tried it in muffins cos tend to make them with over-ripe bananas (can do that from frozen banana) or apple sauce made from donated Bramleys, but don't see why that wouldn't work too. Good luck and give Delia another chance!!

    Morning all

I had a pretty rubbish evening last night. I spent two evenings doing my marmalade and it looks like a disaster :(

Then I find out I never passed my exam. I was 5 points short :( was already a resit so no opportunity to take again

And then to top it all off I was looking last night for a specific top for later as I'm going out from work. Couldn't find it anywhere :(

Those days where you feel like a failure? That's me today :(

    Course you are NOT.

1 Eating the marmalade would make you fatter
    2 Their lose
3 Means you can treat yourself to another one at lunchtime

Adds up to success to me.:T:T:T
