Good morning wacky this pic has made me look at the clock and think its time I sorted myself out as meeting a friend for lunch
hope the weather is a bit nicer where you are:)
I don't think the weather knows what it's doing at the moment.
It was lovely 5 mins ago and now it's not looking too good.
Have a lovely lunch. :AN1LDA0 -

Sorry to hear about your marmalade QoC. If it's for your own use can you still not use it spread thinly on your toast. I can understand you being annoyed. It's all that time you spent.
FC. ......hope you are feeling better this morning:A I too would like to join the brown arms club:)
Off soon to pick up my C and C. Will report back this evening:)
Thats exactly it, I spent two evenings doing that. Two evenings where I could have been at the allotment. Two evenings where I could have been doing anything else. Ah well, no point crying over burnt marmalade lolhornetgirl wrote: »Morning all.
Could the marmalade be redeemed as a sort of syrup on pancakes QoC?
There has to be some kind of alternative, I'll have a look, thanksDitto - we always drive past the 'good stuff' & usually take back more than we drop off. Donations money goes to local schools.
Fabulous posh push chairs there for £3 - owners couldn't be bothered to clean them ...

Thank youIf it was too runny, it might have been salvageable. Its set nicely but still had a sticky syrupy feel to it this morning

Don't bin it! If it is too solid, take a bit out of the jar, add a bit of water and microwave gently and mix. I've even sometimes had to mix in some of the really dirt cheap value marmalade to get a better consistency. If it is too runny, try keeping it to add to next batch - you can make lemon marmalade (sets easily) and add this. Or use it in baking as secret ingredient whenever it asks for orange zest. (You may also need to cut down on sugar in your recipe.) I've used it in orange cheesecake, fruit cake, and bread pudding (solid cake stuff not b&butter pud) made with whoopsie bread. Haven't tried it in muffins cos tend to make them with over-ripe bananas (can do that from frozen banana) or apple sauce made from donated Bramleys, but don't see why that wouldn't work too. Good luck and give Delia another chance!!
Thank youIf all else fails, I can chuck it in and around my christmas cakes this year
Course you are NOT.
1 Eating the marmalade would make you fatter
2 Their lose
3 Means you can treat yourself to another one at lunchtime
Adds up to success to me.:T:T:T
Thank you :A You are lovely! I am in half a mind to hit primarni at lunchtimeEnterprise_1701C wrote: »Have to admit I have never made marmalade, but I never follow recipes for jam. Just equal parts fruit and sugar, bung it in the pan and boil till set. I have a jam thermometer though, and I keep a stock of small plates in the freezer when I am making jam so I can check the set easily.
I looked for the jam thermometer in aldi last night but couldnt find them. Good morning all.
Just packing up to leave Aviemore. Just been browsing as it would have been rude to sit on the iPad all day.
Spent most of the indoor time colouring in, playing snap and connect 4
Lovely weather but home beckons. No place like it.
Enjoyed and glad I did not miss any big glitch as I will have time to do a c&c on the flash.
Enjoy0
