    Good Morning everyone,

Think I ve hurt my arm again. I can keep it under control with pain killers just now, so I ll see how I go before I rush off to the chiropractor again but he did say don t leave it too long if it happens again.

It's times like this that I realise I'm getting old :o and can t do as much as I d like to do . Probably happened when I was lifting slabs on Friday

    Hi,
Can you tell if the flowers or male or female?

The female flowers (which will produce cucumbers) have a small elongated swelling ie a tiny cucumber behind the flowers. The male floers are on a very thin stalk. the difference is clear once you see the 2 types together.

I used to be in school productions but have always been to shy to get up in front of other adults. :o

I love singing to myself, in the car, shower. Would sing in the bath if I had one. ;)

Actually getting a bath is a step closer, have made the decision on getting new garage/garden room built. Should be done before the autumn. :T

I ve always sang to myself ever since I was young, now i notice I talk to myself as well but only when I think I'm alone lol:D It's the only way to get a sensible answer is n t it :D. and no quips of Senile Susie either thank you David.

Dgd tried to count up today:
    Raspberries
    Gooseberries
    Rhubarb
    Strawberries
    Potatoes (varieties)
    Onions
    Shallots
    Garlic  (for DD)
    Runner beans (varieties)
    French beans (varieties)
    Sweetcorn
    Beetroot (varieties)
    Carrots (varieties)
    Parsnips (varieties)
    Lettuce
    Cucumbers
    Tomatoes (varieties)
    Pumpkins ( for DGD's Halloween)
    Courgettes
    Broad beans
Peas (rapidly going down as 3 yo DGD thinks that they are absolutely delicious picked and eaten from the pod)

DGD dug her own veg today for dinner. Come home, washed them and oncd cooked, ate 'her lotment veg' Happy days. :T:T

Wow. I can't wait until next year when I can get it all up and running :D

Good morning. Lovely day here but also very fresh outside. I have a couple of questions for the gardeners:
    1) How do I know when my potatoes are ready to harvest?

    2) What do you feed your cucumbers with - mine is about the size of a gherkin & there is only 1 growing and I have 3 plants.

    Thanks

A lot of cukes are self fertile, but sometimes they just need a little helping hand from a cotton bud or make up brush - from the male to female flowers
