What is a shag band

I'll let the Daily Fail dramatically explain it: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1215712/Thousands-young-children-buying-coloured-wristbands-week-But-parents-idea-true-disturbing-meaning-.html

I can't fathom if they're 15-20 years behind with the news or the trend briefly revived.

Edit: They were these cheap plastic bands that kids used to wear and if someone snapped one off your arm it had a meaning to it. Different colours meant different things of the rude variety. Obviously as pre teens no one did them but there was a fair amount of bullying and teasing about it.

    :o

When I was a child I finger knitted several long lengths of finger knitting in assorted colours..

My Mum then machined them onto a length of woven webbing to form a tie for my Dad for a Christmas present from me

And he wore it :D:D:D what a great Dad he is ♥

:rotfl: French knitting and those plastic 'shag' bands were the rage in my youth

Ooh I remember French knitting, don't think we had the bands though

I like driving, but I think I would quite like to be driven sometimes - a la Simon Cowell but without the high waisted trousers and Sinitta :)

I think it revived, I remember it being in the news a few years ago
