One of my unexpected pleasures as been shelling peas with littlest DD - had no idea she had never done this before, but it is something I rarely buy and I don't grow my own vegTook me back to shelling peas for my mum many moons ago - although I think we always ate more than ever reached the pot.
is not that the fun of growing peas eating them straight from the pod:D none of my kids really eat them cooked but pick the pods as soon as they ripen, am looking foward to giving some to dgd she is at that age that she loves nains magical garden so many nice things to eat and smell.:D

Did you go to M's in M*rgate? I was there at lunchtime and surprised to see loads of papers still on sale. People were just walking past them and ignoring them! Bought 8 papers and did 4 shops with no problems. Whilst I was there, there was a lady with a trolley full of fruit and veg who was trying to tell another lady all about the coupon but this other lady just looked at her like she had 2 heads - you just can't help some people can you?
I'm now seriously thinking about going out and getting more papers so i can make strawberry jam as well!Afternoon folks:D
Dont think ill catch up but bet its all Morries:T:T:T
I went and did 2 in one go SA was lovely, i said its one per transaction isnt it so i can do these, she says you can do as many as you like:D:j
I said i will be back in a min, so in the trolley had 6 seperate shops, i got 6 x strawberries, cherries, plums, carrots , all my salad stuff for a week, nectarines, stuffed mushrooms:T:T
No papers left in morries so went garage near here 2, had them then went in the shop on the park and got another 8:T:T:T:THas your eldest got this;)

Here's the recipe I used before for MSK and anyone else that wants it
To make 5 x 225g jars
100ml olive oil
2kg onions (peeled and finely sliced)
200g Demerara sugar
150g redcurrent jelly
300ml cider vinegar
50ml balsamic vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Heat oil then cook onions on low for 30-40mins (onions should be collapsed and beginning to colour
Add sugar and redcurrant jelly, increase heat, cook ~30mins (mixture turns dark, nutty brown and most moisture driven off)
Take off heat to cool for a few minutes, then add the vinegars, cook rapidly for ~10mins (mixture becomes gooey and spoon drawn across bottom of pan leaves clear track for a couple of seconds)
Add salt and pepper, jar up, use within 12 months
that sounds really nicethanks will give it a go if you dont mind, espeacily as i have made some redcurrant jelly, a few days ago so can use that in it:T

Important question for anyone looking to do preserving: where's the cheapest place to buy sugar? I never bother with fancy preserving sugar and I've never had a problem, but all sugar is fairly expensive and I'd like to get as close to free jam as possible!
65p in lidl is the cheapest round here.0 -
1 x Lambrini Bianco Perry (750ml) £1.95 £1.50
A couple of weeks ago I posted that I always find wombles from the same person who buys lambrini.
Today I have found this one and believe it or not it has a glitch on it.
They bought 2 lambrini in the 2 for £3.One is glitching.
Dont know what it is as scanning as unknown product on a.com and msl.It says lambrini on receipt Bar code 501116605127.
