No. Just more expensive as they are regarded as a 'designer' brand.
You know, the must have item.0 -
I don't think of Apple as a designer brand - it's just a brand like any other.
Having used products from many manufactures, I prefer Apple for build quality and intuitive software.
That's my preference, others will think differently. But please don't assume I'm an airhead and only interested in labels because I choose to use a certain brand.0 -
What do you want the iPad to do that the Nexus 7 can't?0

Well, I think so, as I have one & love it - but I respect others' wishes to have a bit more autonomy & a lot less "walled garden".
Mine's WiFi only so not much use outside the house (an aspect I regard as a feature not a bug) & old enough to have a rather ropey camera so the lads aren't seized with a desire to talk it on walks.0 -

personally the ipad has a better bulid quality but the functionality amd the whole user experience it's 50/50 .
I've tried both prefer the nexus but thats my taste0 -
It's all a matter of preference.
I (or rather my wife) has an iPad 1. I have a Nexus 2012. I much prefer the Nexus. My wife no longer uses either.0 -

As tablets go the Nexus 7 isn't bad, it's more of a case that the iPad can do things better. For example the screen quality on an iPad gives much sharper/clearer text. The Nexus screen I found a bit wishy/washy.
I found scrolling web pages on the Nexus was frustrating, as the page never scrolled at the rate I was swiping. It was as if the webpage was being dragged through treacle.
There are more tablet dedicated apps available for the iPad, and they are generally higher quality.
I think the iPad feels better in your hand. It's a rock solid device.0
