Hi all,

I have read the sticky's but I am find them very confusing.

Last week I parked in a Morrisons carpark. I had a staff meeting with my manager (working lunch). My boss asked me to go with him to a local store afterwards.

Today i got a PCN from Parking Eye stating I had parked 32 minutes after the two hour free parking. The PCN is for £100.00, reduced to £60.00 if paid in a few weeks.

I showed my boss and he gave me £30.00 towards the ticket.

Should I just pay the ticket????

Should I talk to Morrisons?????

Read the Newbies thread again. You only need to read post 1 at this stage.
The first template to appeal to PPC is there.
    You appeal, get rejected.
Come back and use one of templates to appeal in post 3 to POPLA, & win. nothing to pay.
End result, £30 profit for you, or pleased boss when you give it back.

Or you pay £16 to these http://www.parkingticketappeals.org who are recommended by forum and they will sort for you. End result still £14 profit or £14 to pay back to boss.

But surely you are capable of following easy steps as outlined. All the information is there for you.

And if you lunched In Morrison's and spent money there of course you should go and complain and ask them to cancel.

I would say it because the forum has got a 100% success rate with forum assisted appeals at POPLA. The figures speak for themselves.

If you go to the POPLA Decisions thread, you will see some of the most recent Parking Eye Appeals won, and in just about every one the words to the effect that Parking a Eye did not put in any defence or turn up for the appeal. In other words they threw the towel in against a good POPLA appeal.

They send so many of these out, I think they can't be bothered to chase the ones that bother to appeal correctly as they know they will lose on The argument of No GPEOL.

ok, since my last message, I saw that 100% claim also. I have found the long template letter to send, and from what you have said, that would be automatically rejected by parking eye.

in regards to the letter to Popla, I am assuming there is no standard letter to send????? does someone on here help with a letter to be sent???

Read the Newbie thread (which is really all the help you need) Post 3 and click on the Blue Words "HOW TO WIN AT POPLA" . All the templates are there.

Coupon-Mad spent a lot of time writing that thread to help people win their appeals!

  • The best advice I can offer is to take the advice of Dee140157 and pay the £16 to Parking Ticket Appeals (Please note the .uk is missing after the .org ) Dee140157 you missed it off your post!
Even if your appeal isn’t successful they will pay the charge.

I took the time to read the Newbies post by coupon-mad, who has great knowledge, as well as other members on here too. The 1st template I used was rejected, so when I came across Parking Ticket Appeals on this forum, it was peace of mind for me not having to worry about the inconvenience of the POPLA appeal. They dealt with my appeal even though I‘d already made my 1st appeal. To pay £16 for a guaranteed service, was a win, win situation for me as my appeal was successful.

I usually only recommend using the service if the OP is really finding it too stressful or difficult to do this themselves. I suspect this is not he cases here and with a bit of reading the OP will cope alone with this one.

However I am glad that it was of use to you and helped you deal with a stressful incident for you.

There's a very recent Parking Eye one (or possibly two examples for PE), linked in the Hyperlink 'How to win at POPLA' in post #3 of the NEWBIES sticky. Can pretty much be used verbatim, maybe with the odd detail tweaked if need be. And it's not a fiddly letter, in fact save your stamps - both stages can be appealed online, to PE then to POPLA. :)

And we've not lost one since Spring 2013 when we were first learning what arguments worked with the new POPLA Assessors. It's the truth, not just a 100% claim!

Hilarious to read that your boss GAVE you £30 - you should refund him and educate him! Does he do the same when you show him you've got a scam phishing email begging for money?! Neither of you seem to realise these aren't real parking tickets, they are not penalties nor fines and are perfectly beatable.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

When you win your appeal, may I suggest that should your boss not want the money back, you do something useful with it, like donate it to a local charity. Your local hospice would find a good home for it I am sure.

ok, I have spent a bit of time getting my head around this. I seen the template letter which I need to send to Parking Eye. I understand I am expecting a rejection letter. I have also seen the Popla appeal templates, and agree the #3 relating to ANPR seems to be the best one. I think i can do this on my own. Its not that I am uneducated, its just like most, the world of parking tickets/invoices is a subject I know little of. I have read Martin lewis take on this, and this does not seem to fit with the forum on parking tickets, however I am going to do this on my own.

Should I email my appeal to Parking Eye within the 14 days (discounted price of £60.00) or wait until as closer to the 28 day rule - or does it really matter????? (Please go gentle with me, still a novice at private invoices/parking tickets)????

In regards to my boss, no idea what to tell him or about the money, I need to get this involice addressed first.
