Pity you can't tell the difference between law and your own opinion as well.
Judging by the other posts by this user, it would seem that they are not a newbie and just an alter ego for one of the more aggressive posters (probably one that has been PPR'd)0 -
I would say it is fit for purpose as it can still be used as a high chair and the staining does not effect this ability. I would argue that it is is not of satisfactory quality though.
I think you're correct.
I hummed and ha'd before going with fit for purpose and I think I probably got it wrong as, as you say, it can still be used as a high chair. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Regardless of the law, it is still ludicrous that anything for a baby stains so easily.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
When I was a kid my high chair was wooden, painted in blue at some point. Fabric would always be an issue.0

The description says the seat cover is washable, not wipe clean. Is it washable?0

The description says the seat cover is washable
That's pretty much meaningless.
All it means is that it won't disintegrate if washed.
It all comes down to whether it is of 'merchantable quality'.
It's unlikely that a court would accept that something that you can pretty much expect to come into contact with food at every use and which will get permanently stained on contact with said food is of merchantable quality.
On the other hand, something that you would not expect to come into contact with food - such as a wedding dress - would probably be considered of merchantable quality even if it did permenantly stain on contact. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Nowhere on the description does it say the item is wipe clean, only that it is washable. I would say it is key to the OP's complaint, far from meaningless. Unless of course they did not read the description and assumed it was wipe clean?0 -

LOL!
You're not even in the right area.
The argument is not whether it is 'wipe clean' or 'hand wash' or 'dry clean'. No one is arguing about how it has to be cleaned.
The argument is about how effective cleaning it is.
The answer seems to be: not very effective at all. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
It cant be that bad. The reviews are fantastic with many people saying that its easy to clean.0
