Have just gone to MSE on a different machine - usually remain logged in all the time but the new page does not seem to offer this option, or am I missing it?"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "

No, fermi has already reported it as a 'bug'.
(Because that is how we are supposed to report basic things missing from the new version.)

Its awful and totally not needed, I think someone is trying to justify their jobWWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0

Its doing my head in, keeps flicking back n forth from new to old, I don't know where I'm up to.
If it ain't broke why try to fix it!!!0 -
I get the new look when visiting MSE from work - on a 19" screen in IE9 it's just absolutely crap.
The page width requires me to scroll horizontally - definitely not in the W3C guidance / industry conventions - the web page should be set up so that it scales to the user's screen width not the other way round.
The white's too bright - my own website uses a black background because that makes a better contrast for text (I did this following advice from Maddox, the guy who has the best page in the universe (by his own admission), but it's NSFW).
The layout, wrapping and flow of the text is poor. The repeated placement of the OP at the top of the page is stupid.
Who designed these changes? Teleperformance?0 -
I don't mind the new design but I like the old one better. I wonder what the idea is behind the changes. Perhaps the new one is intended to look more modern, or maybe there are other changes in the pipeline? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Funny how they have been too busy to sort out other things while designing this messWWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0

It is a horrible interface. Another favourite forum of mine 'revamped' itself and since then is a shadow of its former self as so many posters have left (in fact that is how I ended up here). Why on earth don't they leave successful things alone?"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

I paid a visit to the new design this evening, looked at one post, got a headache and returned to the old style. Absolutely awful design.0

Many forums have changed to a similar style recently and I suppose we will get used to it. Developers need to drive change , otherwise they will be out of work. Personally, I think the changes are for their benefit, not the users.
a very important gripe to me is the glaring white background. My monitor is colour calibrated for photography on a regular basis and I find the new colour to be extremely tiring on my failing eyesight. If it changes to this permanently, I will cease to use the site.
Developers, please mute it down a bit?0
