School uniforms ladies. DS already has a lifetime supply of trousers and DD has one unworn pinny and skirt. So from the school shop I'm thinking of just ordering 2 logo'd tees and sweaters for DS and one cardi for DD. Comes to about £40 does that sound reasonable? DS has an unopened pack of plain tees so really I just need to get DD a couple of plain tees.
DD is only there 2.5 days and uniform isn't compulsory for her anyway.
Then it's just footwear although DS has just gone up a size so I could clean his up for the first term. I washed their winter coats from last year and they've been put in the loft this aft. Assuming neither has arms 6" longer in the next few months it's OK not to have new, isn't it? Don't think I'd remember what winter coat any other kid wore last year
I don't want to buy book bags as they are Velcro fastening and awful, within days last year DS' bag stopped closing. Wonder if I can just get him a plain one with press studs somewhere.
Or is it better if I tow the line and kit them out completely from school?

Bossy.. Squeak has 5 jumpers/cardies for September and 5 polo shirts, I've not got her any trousers or skirts I will see how the ones she has fits! She isn't 4 until August and in age 6 now!!.. but I have a lot and struggle to get stuff washed and dry in winter, I'd say 2 jumpers/cardies each is plenty if they change when they get home and you can get stuff washed and dried quickly. Ours are only £4.50 each though so not going to break the bank.
Mine pick their own bags for reading books, they are given a free bag when they start the school but they are £3 to replace.
Winter coats and shoes.. don't ever replace them until they are outgrown.. Moomin is wearing her 3 year old winter coat still. Shoes are too expensive to just buy the same size when not really needed.
School uniform is not compulsory at state primary schools.. save money where you can!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Evening flyladies
Well, I have fantastically failed on the flying front this weekI even forgot the load of washing I put on yesterday teatime, resulting in me having to dry DS1's blazer with the hair dryer at ten to eight this morning
I didn't think I missed a TD all that much until today!
DH arrived home at 6.15 with the step-skids and I had to hide in our BR for half an hour whilst he had a big argument with DSD. I wasn't scared of the fight, more scared of the vitriol which I would spew at her had I become embroiled. She is >| |< this close to getting both barrels from me
Anyhow, I have rewashed the offending load and hung it on the airer and another is ready and waiting for DH's work shirt shortly. Kitchen looks like ChernobylMy boys and I have spent 30 mins every evening this week tidying their pit bedroom and have managed to gather two black bags of carp for the bin and another for the chazzer. In theory this means that there should be a space for everything and there should be no mess. In theory
I need a shower and a stiff drink. Hope all are well xx0 -
I'm sure you only need 5 tetnus jabs in a lifetime, must have had that many I'm sure. DS1 has washed up and DS1 bathed and in bed. Just going to do 15 minutes ironing and cooking pizza as DS3 needs a veggie packed lunch tomorrow. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Thanks pigpen I knew there was common sense in me somewhere. All we need then is fresh tops for DD - her current ones are a bit worse for wear with all the sunscreen. And she is a cold bod so can have long sleeves for autumn
And I will check feet nearer the time.
dusty I was told some years ago that I've had enough tetanus jabs to last me now (by a doc of course!) so I think you're right. X
I've cleaned kitchen after dinner then after kiddies went to bed I did 2hrs paid stuff  definitely off duty now until Monday (my birthday) and got finished what I wanted anyway.
So quick shower and into my nice clean bed :T
Night all

Bossy DD is going back in the same uniform she is in now. She's just had a growth spurt so she's in new blouses/trousers. The only things I'll be buying this summer is a new PE sweatshirt as she's outgrown her current one (not bad for 2 years
), another pack of blouses so she'll have 6, 2 school bags (one for her PE kit) and new school shoes. This is the first year her school shoes have lasted the entire school year, well worth paying out the extra for Dr Mart3ns in my opinion. DD usually destroys shoes in a matter of days
I managed dailies, I've done paid stuff since 10am until 9.30pm except for about HH for eating tea, and I have just remembered I stripped my bed this morning and haven't re-made it yetOff to make my bed while DD is still up, then I'll come back down and tidy up downstairs, then I'll have to go to bed as I have work in the morning and again tomorrow night
Thankfully I'm free in between so can go and do some much needed clothes shopping in Mr A and maybe even fly a little
Catch you all tomorrow :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
