Just back from marmaris,
we found that for restuarants, bars etc, they mainly take lira,
some take credit cards, but alot didnt or if they did they had problems with it being 'online' and as its all in turkish i was reluctant to enter my pin more than once
all shops (bags, clothing, markets) and trips seemed to be in sterling, although you could pay in lira,
our hotel gave 2.5 lira per £, but watch out for the money exchange shops, read about them on tripadvisor so was ready, tried to con us out of £10 as a admin fee for £100, asked for the sterling back, she gave us the correct amount of lira then !
I'm trying to be a good moneysaver
but I keep reading the bargains on the grabbit board !:rotfl:
