Personally I have my profile set to private and when I started my job blocked every single one of my colleagues (I just tell them I don't use FB)
But then I also do t mention work at all on social media to be on the safe sideThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi,
I have some of my colleagues on my FB. I don't like it and I regret accepting their friend requests but I didn't want to look like I was being ignorant and rude.
I was also 'friends' with the daughter of a senior member of staff. A few others were friends with her too. One of my colleagues put something about work on FB (nothing bad) and this senior member of staff knew about it and the colleague was disciplined. We figured it was her daughter showing her stuff so we all unfriended and blocked her. No problems since although we never mention work on FB!
I am thinking of deleting work colleagues tbh and blocking them. I don't see the point of them being friends with me on there when they see me so much at work!Interest rate 1.25%, offset mortgage Woolwich0 -

Or, delete them and then close your account for a few weeks so when they ask you can say you have closed it down and then just don't tell them when you come back onlineDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
i signed into her account and it is set to private. they told her they have software that still lets them see it! i would have thought that this is a load of bull but now im not too sure
It will be someone at work, then.
I only share what I want to share publicly on Facebook, although as someone on the forum said a few years back, I should sack myself for what I put on there.
Unfriending all work colleagues will be the best answer to this IMO.

It's a common policy now to sign to say if you behave in a way that can bring the company in disrepute via social media, it can lead to dismissal. Basically if you have a rant on there and they say it reflects badly they can act upon it! Best not to have work people on there.0

It can work both ways!

Love it!I've had search results like this before!
Anyway it does work even more ways when a customer stated my name on that during a good old fashioned rant (whilst I couldn't blame them) their posts were soon edited by our co - sometimes it is good that they take an active interest in social media for more then snooping but also in protection of situations0 -
I've had problems with this- funnily enough Miss Moneysaver I also had issues with the daughter of a senior member of staff! It turned out that the person snitching was the ward grass and I said instead of being so concerned about what I'm writing on my Facebook (get this- I wished my sister happy birthday and apparantly I was with her so therefore I wasn't at home- eh?!) maybe they should speak to this person about the fact she was claiming she was a single parent to a young child with no partner so therefore she could only work certain shifts that she dictated even though she openly boasted that she was shacked up with a bloke who she was engaged to and her 'very young child' was actually nearly 13...*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
