I get this message when trying to post a competition link:
"Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. "
- But I've been a member since 2008! I'm still too new?

Unfortunately for you, the rule is based on number of posts rather than length of time as a forum member. I'm not sure what the mythical number is, but you obviously haven't reached it.
If you really need to post the links (e.g. it's a house for sale, or a daft eBay listing, or something) then you can post them as text instead of a hyperlink, e.g. with a space or using "(dot)" in place of part of the punctuation. Friendly forum members normally then reply and convert them to hyperlinks in the reply.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I'm surprised that anyone could have had a username for 6 years (presumably reading posts regularly?) yet restrict themselves to only posting 6 times during that period.
That's some mighty fine self-control you have, gdawe5.
Well, until today of course, when you have posted 5 of your (now) 11 total - in the last half hour.
Seems like you've gotten the bug.
At that rate you'll soon lose the 'new user' tag.0 -
