Last of us left behind

I have finally finished the first option on the last of us. Amazing game, but I always felt it was not finished yet. Because when you first start it at the open menu you start at the top then the next one down says "left behind, next chapter recommended for when you have completed the first option"
So in your mind you want to try that after.
so I completed it, went down to the next option, then it says I have to pay another £11.99 to play the next option??????????????
Is that not fair? They should have told me that before I spent £40 buying the title in the first place.
Is there any way to play 'left behind' cheaper?

I take it you are not familiar with the concept of DLC (downloadable content)?
As with most DLC, Left Behind is just a short optional extra, released several months after the main game and does not make the main storyline any more or less complete.
AFAIK there is no way to get it any cheaper.0 -
Roland Sausage is technically right, there is no way to get it cheaper - however there may be "workarounds". Check out PSN and see if there are any trial deals running, I know on Xbox Live they were offering stuff like £10 credit if you signed up to Netflix/Love Film/NowTV - so it could be possible that you can earn some PSN credit that way. That would then pay for your downloadable content - but what they're doing is entirely fair, they make the content they deserve paying for the content.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

I am waiting for a new release or something like last of us remastered with it included for free.
I have a code in the box for free onlne stuff or something, but what is that all about? I do not do multiplayer or anything.0 -

but it technically won't be for free because the game on the PS3 cost brand new at the time of release £39.99 if you were lucky, most places for £43-45.
the remastered game on the PS4 which includes the left behind DLC is probably going to be sold for £55-60. let's assume it's 55. the DLC is 12 quid. without the DLC the game would be £43, the same price of the game on the PS3 at release when the DLC never existed.
so you aren't really getting it for free in the remastered edition, they're still charging you for it.
about 80% of the game's trophies are earnt in the singleplayer storyline - the main game. the online is basically heavily 3rd person stealth killing other players on maps taken from the storyline and about 20% of the trophies you can earn to get a platinum are done on the multiplayer. you don't have to play the multiplayer at all if you don't want to and it takes nothing away from the storyline of the main game except if you want to platinum the entire game you MUST play the multiplayer, and it will probably take you between 16-24 hours to get the multiplayer trophies.0 -
i've never been a fan of dlc. i can see the ops point as it does give a strong impression you can play it when you finish the main game. no doubt a game of the year edition will include it for free.0

Well I played Left Behind and I think it's worth every single penny!
It is standard for games these days to have additional sequels/prequels that you can purchase for extra. It didn't come out til 8 months after the original game did. They didn't make half a game and charge for the other half - it's a whole and complete story on its own. They just added to it.
There's nothing wrong with making something extra and charging for it. It's a prequel. It's brilliant. It does tie in extremely well to the original game. I cannot stress how much it's worth the extra cost. It has things that video games have never done before! Seriously. And then replay the original game and see how beautifully it ties inIt will make you notice old things you missed the first time.

can anyone tell me what is the Joel Edition I just saw?
Is it the same game?0 -
Yes, they had special editions of the game available for pre-order with either Ellie on the front (Game exclusive) or Joel on the front.
It also came with other bits and bats extra. But the actual game is the same.
Also I forgot to mention before if you like this game you should try the Uncharted series which is made by the same people. And you can play Uncharted 3 for free! (Because the people who made it, Naughty Dog, are awesome people!)Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. can anyone get it for free on PS Plus, even new memberships made now or did you have to be a PS Plus member at the time when it was available to be eligible to re-download it now for free?
it's no longer in the list and when i use a new PS Plus subscribed PSN account it comes up with the price and to buy it only.0 -
Oh! It was there for ages, maybe they took it down. Not sure. The multiplayer for UC3 is still free though. You don't even need PS+ for it!Hi.
