Hi All.
On another thread I asked if the choices I was making on a new lease car were good or not.
After driving a version of the one I wanted to get this week, I was totally put off it . ( TRied a Lexus CT200h and spent 20 minutes trying to get it to reverse, something to do with the key fob and some security I didn't follow! Lol )
Decided on a Passat saloon Executive 2.0 tdi, with full leather spec.
Any Passat drivers out there who can give an honest appraisal of the car. Only used to Fords and Toyotas for such a long time. The last non ford/Toyota I had was a Vauxhall astra Belmont years ago !

Passats are great cars. Brilliant as mile munchers.
The Mondeo is probably a better drivers car but the Passat is a great all rounder.0 -

If you are getting it brand new, just be aware there is a new version of Passat launch next month I understand.0 -
I wouldn't buy one of the new ones, but I'd definitely lease one. The only complaint I really have is they're a bit bland inside.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

I thought the new one wasn't coming out until Jan 15? That is what the car mags are saying.
Yes it is a lease car, it seems that they changed the model names from SE, Sline etc to Executuve, Exec style being the top one. Sat in an estate in the dealers and it felt so comfy and well built compared to my Avensis estate, but will go saloon this time I think. Whe I have configured it on the website, it comes out with most of the whistle and bells. Maybe the Lease co may get a few more thrown in for a deal. wait and see.
Thanks for the posts guys, just want to get my decision right this time, after having a Verso 09 plate and hating it so much. Hated it from the moment the lease co drove it to my house and I saw the guy driving it. He was 80 if he was a day and thought ' the car suits him' was glad to get rid of it at the end of the lease !0 -

From my understanding, you will seem them at the forthcoming motor shows, you should be able to order them from September , so I guess with a 20 week lead, it will be 2015 before you actually can take delivery.
That said with the new features and weight savings, I know on my GTI the insurance was nearly half of the previous one and even with the DSG my long term MPG is over 32mpg.0 -
^^This. The new Passat isn't due to be on sale until late 2014, after the Paris motor show in Oct, so probably early 2015 before we see them on the UK roads.0

Worried what that says about me, when I've delivered Avensiseses, I've really liked them :eek:Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

Just noticed volkswagen.de website has new passat available to order from 10/7. Can't post the link as am a newbie, but you'll see it on the front page.
Guess that means you'll be able to order over here in a few weeks or so.0 -
I've got a Golf GT Bluemotion 140PS with leather upholstery, and really like it. I considered a Passat but leather upholstery wasn't an option available to me in our car scheme with the Passat.
I've driven one before though and it was great, and one of my colleagues won't look past a Passat if it's available in the car scheme.0
