MSE News: Virgin Mobile sneaks around Ofcom rules to hike pay-monthly prices

"Take it or leave it" means leave now, before taking, not in future after taking.
I thought it was obvious...
I have to admit that I don't know the full story, but was it really "beyond what is agreed"?
If so, MSE's 'analyst' could have made some effort and presented some real analysis instead of just 'pigeonholing'.0 -
How is it sneaky? Virgin are simply exercising their rights under the leagal binding terms and conditions that were agreed to at the point of sale.
It also might be worth pointing out that the contact number is now free on 0345 6000 789. Not 0845 as you suggested. That is a strange way of saving people money. Give them the chargeable number.
Now why doesn't everyone calm down and MSE can go and put the wooden stirring ladel away and take the pot off the boil.0 -

Networks often make their own 0845 number non chargable when dialed on their own network.
In some cases a 0845 (local rate) can be cheaper than a 0345 (National rate) for land line users.
I thought the main driver to move to using 03xx type numbers was they usually quality for any inclusive minutes you may have, whereas 0845's generally don't.0 -
Thank crunchie I left Virgin a few months ago (as their service is horrendous where I am and can never log into my virgin account as it always says the page is down and engineers are working on it)The truth is out there... and I want to believe0

This is a new reply to an old post but it is going up again by another £2.50 next month!0

As above a reply to an old post..
Just received a letter stating my tariff is increasing by £3pm.
Going up from £8.50 to £11.50pm.0 -
Same here.
£3 increase on a £19.50 tariff.
Just had a nosey on the Virgin board and there's someone on there who will have theirs going from £5 to £8.
What the hell are they playing at?
A poster on the Virgin board also said that apparantly they are no longer going to be having unlimited date, they're capping at 2gb? I hope that's not true! :mad:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
They are increasing prices by 1.6% so I do not know where they,re getting £3 from.
Mine is only supposed to go up by 13p.

My £7pm is going up by £3.
Never really occurred to me until I received the letter spouting all the great benefits - whilst my package includes 3G data, I have never (in over two years) seen the 3G icon on my phone.
Their customer service is awful, their data transfer rates are from 1997.
Joining Voda on 12m SIM-only (£9.50 by redemption).
Plus, am currently on hold and have been for now 18 minutes.
*UPDATE*
Got my PAC.
*BOOM*0
