I am a long term user and was one the ones who was getting almost every post deleted a short while back as well as a sig and an avi......none of which where particularly bad.
I liked your Husky avi Colin ..never saw the monkey you were nattering with Flick about and your sig made me laugh. Was it the Husky avi that went ?Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Or possibly a single volunteer, lets call them a Board Guide for arguments sake that spends a lot of time looking at the actual board they are the BG of.
They might then spot trouble early and nip it in the bud before it got to the stage of a thread having to be deleted with the loss of a great deal of information.
I have always thought it very strange that Glad is left as the sole BG for both DT and the Arms, as well as being a BG for 5 other boards.
That doesn't seem like a workable load for one person (if you are expecting them to behave like a 'moderator').
I would be interested to know how Glad feels about it, and also how much time she spends on the Arms and DT boards these days, as opposed to earlier times.
But BGs have very limited powers in the MSE set-up, anyway.
A 'moderator' on most other forums would have more like the Forum Team's powers.0 -

So what do you do with you time, its certainly not spent sorting out the obvious trolls and numerous AEsWWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -

It was a great thread. Unfortunately there have been so many problems on it our Team doesn't have the time to deal with the repeated reports.
If you can keep Discussion Time and Arms threads friendly without argumentative so we don't receive reports that will help us keep future threads up.
Thanks!
I don't however agree. There have been very few problems on that thread for a year or so that I know of until the other night. And I read MSE a lot
One batch of posts shouldn't mean that a long standing thread of that type gets pulled. The posts should be deleted and the posters derailing the thread should be dealt with as you and the rest of the team see fit.
If it had happend on Martins OBE thread then I'd bet a days wages you would not have pulled the thread!
The picture thread means a lot to us as posters and we would like it reinstated.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

I'm sure the person who derailed the thread didn't intend for the whole thread to be deleted. She asked for her photo to be removed as she intended to leave the forum, but then used her post to rant and make wild accusations to name and shame several posters.
The poster and I had a difference of opinion in the past and I used my right to reply to her false accusations of stalking, making personal comments and being an AE .
I agree that those posts should be deleted but not the whole thread. So maybe if the poster was to apologise to the forum team they may reconsider their decision. The more I know about people, the better I like my dogs.

Have you apologised?
It's using that "right to reply" and choosing to turn such comments into an argument rather than turning the other cheek that get good threads like Everybody's Photos removed. This feedback request will probably now go the same way.
You appear to be seeking out every mention of that thread, every mention of any so-called personal attacks, in order to put your side of the story. You're like a terrier with a stick. Just let it go. We're getting rather bored of it.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I don't see an argument here Tigsteroonie ! everyone seems to be agreeing the entire thread should not have been removed ?!!! is there a puzzled icon at all ?
Also the forum team do not mind questioning a moderating decisions, its only when rude or personal attacks or libellous comments made are made that threads are pulled so they state as they explained to me.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
