I'm the tenant, landlord was here earlier as we have her tortured and I was showing her the forum she'd never heard of it ! ( where has she been ) lol
I've told her we are going to move if it isn't sorted so she's being most helpful ! Lol lol !
She did reply to this earlier on my account !0 -
I will pass this info on as I am only the tenant. Can I do it ? I'm in Northern IrelandTake photographs
Finding out who owns the house would take five minutes on the land registry website and less than a fiver. Might be a good investment.
You don't mention having spoken to the council noise dept yet- Have you not done this ?0 -
We get up at 6.30 and 7 for work . Sometimes having had no sleep. This girl has had her young daughter taken off her by social services, and as she's unstable and takes drugs, I'm a bit scared of getting on her wrong side. But the neighbour on her other side has reported her so often she probably thinks I have too. My car has been damaged twice by people leaving her house.Do you get up for work early? Why not blast music or TV back and wake them up?
It's getting me down as I'm now on anti depressants and very stressed out !!!!0 -
You can speak to the noise department as its your home which is experiencing the problem - its not really the landlord's problem as its beyond his/her control although a decent landlord will obviously try to help where possible.Adventure before Dementia!0

...landlord was here earlier as we have her tortured ....
See, life isn't as easy as some claim, being a Landlord!
Yes, you can contact the Council yourself. There's not much the LL can do directly that you can't do faster and better. Certainly report any serious incidents on the 101 number, keep a diary of events, and try and get other neighbours involved.
If your phone takes video/sound (or you have a video cam), it's worth recording the events with the date stamp.
Frankly, although you shouldn't have to move, it may prove easier to do so if LL will give you the opportunity. For this reason, I'd still involve the LL in most of the discussions.0 -
If crunch comes to the crunch "with the date stamp" is nothing.
This can easily be added at a later time so all these people who take photos with a date stamp, well, it is useless.0 -
As you are in Northern Ireland, start here for relevent information and what steps you can take. - http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/index/information-and-services/leisure-home-and-community/noise-nuisance-and-neighbour-disputes/noise-nuisance-and-neighbours.htmAll posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

Have you, or the other neighbours, spoken to anyone at the time the noise is happening? Even if the actual occupant is not interested, her guests may be embarrassed enough to quieten down. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

anotheruser.... date stamp isn't useless. It indicates the time and date!..... It corroborates any statement you may make. It's actually quite tricky to change a series of date stamps without screwing up some of the data, chronology, or circumstances (day/night... early/late).
It's also fully accepted as evidence, in tandem with a statement.
Yes, it can be changed, but it usually leaves a trace. Having it will, without a doubt, help.0 -
Exactly - you could make the dates (or everything) up in a diary too. That's why these things are classed as evidence, not proof, but they would definitely be taken into consideration. Once people start making information up it's hard to keep up with the lie and it would likely unravel, so it's not really worth it.anotheruser.... date stamp isn't useless.
