I dont use nationwide a great deal. My understanding is that all cases have to go via an underwriter to get signed off at some stage.
If it refers the valuation gets done after the underwriting. If it gets accepted the val gets instructed straigth away.
But as I say im not their biggest user so I could be wrong.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It's so frustrating, reading so many horror stories about docs missing/ not missing etc etc.. Just hope offer letter comes through subject to valuation😁0

I generally apply the rule you are more likely to hear the horror stories rather than the successful stories here (Just an observation).0

Lol I suppose so!! Well I'll be sure to put my success story (fingers and toes crossed) on here!!0

Survey was paid for straight after application call with the same advisor, just waiting for for this to be booked with vendor.. Mortgage advisor said our application has gone to the 2nd stage where documents submitted will be checked against application then we should receive offer letter subject to valuation in the next couple of weeks .. So hmmm let's see nothings for sure until in b&w!! Just hope our buyer is patient whist all this is processed😁😁0

Fingers crossed hey!! Have you sent all the docs to them p60 statements etc?0

I know it's the whole waiting thing.. And then you hear people say the got referred to underwriters ..?? I mean what's that?? Stressed.com but don't worry it'll be fine keep us updated .. Call lasts about 3 hours so make sure you've made your visit to the loo.. Lol and good luck!0

I could give you good and bad stories about nationwide.
There are lenders I like using, lenders I use, lenders I dont like using and lenders I wont use. nationwide are probably in the second lot.
I dont think they are bad (I put a complaint in last week about a case I had going through with them, my first ever complaint - and im still happy to use them, which says something). Their biggest downside to me is that they have a team to assess this and a team to assess that - so on one case you could get 3 underwriters from 3 different people.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. @ACG what would you say a realistic time frame for them to be from full app to offer letter on a straightforward application? I know each case is different but I hope we don't get sent to various departments 0
