How long did you have to wait for an appointment?

This is the bit where I am hearing the delay is.

Dont believe we are having one here (2nd time buyer with them) we have just been asked to send in a bank statement and our understanding this is the last part of the chain.

I spoke to a broker yesterday and they were surprised we got off lightly in terms of documentation.

We are under the impression (potentially wrongly) that we are at the final stages, if they are happy with our bank statement we will be granted the mortgage.

Like I say we have been a customer of theres for 7 years I am not sure if that makes a difference? or I am just being far too optimistic. I will say the whole Mortgage process is a utter shambles and needs an overhaul in terms of timings and information.

@RabK...have they scheduled your survey yet? Was that done straight after the application call?

@ACG would you know if all applications go to the underwriter or is it if there are any problems whilst full application is being submitted?

@socookin once application was submitted via call we were asked to pay for survey and provided vendor details so that was paid for there and then just waiting to hear when it's been booked for..

Thanks RabK. Sorry one more question -- how much did you pay for the survey? Do you pay now or add onto mortgage? Cheers,
