World cup. Not everybody likes it!

Terrestrial's digital now, so can still have a new channel for sport and comply with that law.bluenoseam wrote: »BBC and ITV insist upon it because it's enshrined in LAW that the World Cup is televised on terrestrial TV. I would say to you that I like millions of others cannot stand the poor standard of acting from numerous soaps, nor the incessant squaking of the Loose Women - yet they're still broadcast. It's 4 weeks every other year, build a bridge & get over it already.
In fact, BBC Sport, ITV Sport et al could have their own digital terrestrial channels and move all their sports output to those.0 -

I've never quite got why, some team kicking more balls into a goal is of any importance whatsoever.
All I know is that TV and radio is disrupted for weeks on end with no benefit for those who don't like sport.
I've had to 'stock up' on podcasts since Radio 5 Live has become unbearable to listen to, just as it was during the Olympics (yawn)
I don't see why they can't set up a seperate channel for sport on radio and tv for those who find it so thrilling!
the street is constantly interrupted by aldi city v lidl united or other leather clad bladder of wind chasers.0 -
Crikey - not liking what's on telly might even force some people to get a life and actually do something!0

On the plus side all the World Cup / Tennis / Commonwealth Games reports keep Salmond and Sturgeon's ugly mugs off the screen a little bit

I'm not really interested in the football, but what does annoy me is being unable to move for people moaning about it.
It's lovely weather, go outside instead of flicking between TV channels for things you don't like!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Not everyone likes soap operas, reality celebrity shows or talent contests either, what do those people do? Oh I know they don't watch them or pay any attention to the relentless talk about them.0

watch another channel, read a book, take a walk, go to bed early, use your imagination and do something different, just dont be so negative!
Why should people have to do that just for some stupid sporting event? TV at the moment is rubbish with repeats. You want to make people go out walking for hours just to avoid it? Why should people have to go to bed early if they don't want to.
The thing that really Pees me off. Is the news will be England England chances, lost, win, oh one of the team farted. Will be the headline news on the TV. Makes no difference if wars breakout, hundreds killed that day. No the main news stories will be England and football.:mad:0 -

Unlike drossy soap operas, it's only for a couple of weeks, every four years, and there are plenty of other channels!
Love it myself.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
