So I'm trying to update my SOA but its not that easy or straightforward.
But I guess you'd expect that from me.
Guaranteed income of £416/month until March.
Definite monthly spends are
Phone + BB (£50) its still high and coming out of my account. Must review this.
Mobile (£35) thinking get rid and go to payg
Petrol - seems to be around £120/month
Kids uni etc - (Still under discussion)
Car tax and insurance 12.50/month
Car upkeep c£360-600/pa - £30-50 month (?)
The odd treat (?)
House money pays for grub, toiletries and wee maintenance etc
(£165)
The grub is coming in around £100(ish) most months and that's with the manchild here. Although he also leaves in a week or so. (Shh I'm in denial)
I'm sure I'm missing something
No carried over CC debts and no loans etc
Only pesky student loan and the dribbles of what's left to penguin face which is negligible. Who'd ever have thunk I'd manage that.
I'm also looking at working from home options v's p/t working locally options and weighing up a combo of stuff.
Any thoughts most welcome.
I just can't see 'past myself' at the mo. I'm not sure that's healthyTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Unless you have a super dooper smartphone, I would look to change that. We moved Mr Mooo off his contract when it ended and we're on a monthly rolling contract of £11 per month now. He gets buckets of texts and plenty calls for his usage. If his phone ever breaks he'll get a new contract, but that works for him.
I pay £38 per month but I have hunners o'data and a sexy phone, so I think it's worth it (for me) People who value shiny things and 4G less would likely disagree0 -

Squints at phone and decides its not that sexy.
If I'm honest i only use it for the odd text, more as a camera and for FB uploads which I'm sure I could do with me PC if I get myself sorted out.
Thanks - what network are you with on PAYG?

Hi, i have a talk talk mobile for a fiver a month. Unlimited texts, plenty of talk time and it is a nokia lumia. Love it. Love the price as well
Signal has been good so far. Worth a looksie if you are on the same provider.
Petrol wise, is there any way of cutting this back?
If you work from home it cuts down travel.
Would it be worth investigating online skype tutorials? I know not the same as you actually do, but maybe an interesting sideline.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hey there Bob nice of you to pop in.
I've just done the dirty and wriggled out of my contract by skipping an upgrade and reducing to a sim-only. (£9/month) not quite your fiver but a heck of a lot better than it was five minutes previously.
Never have thought of changing but asked their adviser. You clever lot.
Maybe not quite the best deal but gives me some wriggle room and Mr TRG has mentioned a few times he gets offers for his network for his family etc.
Like the idea of the lumiawill ponder that one once this settles a bit. You've certainly a lush deal - we've nae g's cos of being in the sticks. Some things never change.
£9/month - result thank you lasses.
As to petrol. Last month I guess £25 was claimable for work.
Mainly its dashing backwards and forwards to the flat (painting, sigh, ever painting) or taking DS to work when TRG's away I guess they'll abait.
If I stopped galavanting (you're right) these spends would go down.
Its just the lack of ferries its got me all galavantitius.
I must reel in my petrol head habit.
Looks into skype tutorials.
Me main problem is (dear hearts some of us might identify with this) is that whilst I like the idea of working from home, I'd like to do a fairly physical job. Otherwise my overeating glands might not allow me to get through doorways.
Somehow I need an online/work like a navvy balance. I might start selling plants from home again, I'm currently investigating that option and a few other wee things.
There's a couple wee nurseries near here which might offer casual labour which might help balance the muscles/brain thing out.
Will google skype tutoring as sounds interesting.
I've thought of actually just getting a wee cleaning job (heaven knows why as I'm a shoddy cleaner) mainly cos its early morning then the days free to potter away at home.
I should just lock myself in my office (ex office) every morning eh?
Thank you for posting, its really making me think and I've just saved over £20 on me phone each month.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
