Fridge and cupboard audit required. Wiks left a whole heap of veg/meat/cheese behind her (lovely lass) so need to make sure we account for everything and not sure we need spends at all.

Mind you I've a hankering for sushi now (thanks greying :D)

    Grocery spends need updated

A bit of life admin paperwork.

A card for the impending cellists 18th to post (and a skype?)

Some cooking and sorting to make the weekend a chilled one for a very tried TRG.

Hope you are feeling a bit more "normal" today. And LAZY you are not!!! You put the rest of us to shame so if you are lazy then I don't want to know what I am

Looking forward to the team photo. :D hope the girls are looking their best.

Good to know about the 80% reduction in carrier bag usage in Wales. That's a good figure. I would think Scotland would be roughly the same too. People won't mind paying the odd 5p for a bag but when you do your big shop and it's 30p+ each time they'll soon start taking their own ;)

    Take it easy today x

    hey up there Starnac!

Its DD's birthday soon and to be honest I think I'm a bit out of sorts with her 'tother' side of the planet.

She's having fun though so that's awesome isnt it.

    :)

Back is muchly improved and I've been doing some light gardening.

Time for brekkie though and to make some sausage Mrs McB's flattie sausage things for DS they need to 'marinate' for a few hours/overnight in some sage first.

Why is pork and sage such a good combo.

After brekkie must see if those chooks are decent.

Can you share the recipe for "flattie sausage things" or is it a secret??

Glad DD is having a great time. Shame you are missing her birthday though :( at least you could still wish her happy birthday face to face through Skype or some sort. I know it's not the same :(

    Pork and sage flattie sausages

    Pork
Sage or other spices a good shakeful or 2-4 leaves finely chopped

Mix and leave for a while possibly overnight or if not ten mins is fine.

Shape mix into pingpong- golf ball sized balls

Squish flat on a chopping board or in your hands as thin as you can without seeing through them.

Dry fry in a pan brown on both sides for a couple mins

We make these up and use them as cooked sausages on buns etc

Also do with cajun spices, turkey/chicken mince

A veggie alternative might be done with sage and onion stuffing made up and treated as above - worked like a treat, although that mix was a bit wetter.

The nice thing about them is they're tasty and no junk in them.

    CHOOK PHOTAES.

Will put up a photo via photobucket later for non wellybookers.

Week three here and the lasses are visibly happier, scratching, charging for grub and mulling about their coup.

I'm seeing definite signs of feathers 'in pin' popping through and making them a bit fluffier.

Most combs are not all upright but one or two still half flopsome.

Making the new home ready for them at the back which will be under fruit for them to dust and bathe and shade in.

Once gate (s) are up they will have a wee daily stroll about the garden to keep them adventuring.

So far dogs/chucks living in perfect harmony.

    Dog pecked noses - 5
Hens woofed at by dogs - once when they got some cheese, Peedie was very vocal but sent to bed quickly.

Both dogs pop up and keep a safe distance from them when round the perimeter of the fence. Hens look mauranding from inside fence just in case they are too close.

    Big ticks all round.

    *86 eggs and counting*

    2 dozen given to family
    1 doz sold for £3

Its up on the board in the kitchen.

    mmmmmm...

yummy recipe! - we've got some mince beef in the freezer & also some red stickered sausages that could be de-cased - think we shall give these a try this weekend! The sage bush needs a major trim...

eventually got home last night! - don't know why everything was soooooo delayed - guess it's just one of the hazards of working in the big smoke & living in the country! (well actually the edge of the smoke but travelwise the same!)

hopefully tea tonight will be a stir-fry of some sort - that way bits can be used up & OH will do the cooking!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

pips the girls are looking splendid after just 3 weeks, well done. And your first egg sale too! :T I can't believe how much edible stuff you have growing already. We have an alpine strawb plant but some kind soul pinched all the fruit when we were out last week  I have my suspicions that it could be the same person who nicked another neighbours ripe figs last year and left a packet of fig biscuits hanging in their place. It would be funny if it wasn't theft.....

So glad your back is mending :)
