£112 credited back from oil account as ordered too much oil for the tank.

All good means we used less than I thought and my DD of £50 is about hitting the spot.

Tank balance with Boiler Juice is £50.42 with a full to bursting tank and the heating pretty much off now.

Looked over CC and spent £45 on peat/wood this month - was similar last year I think I have a 'derth' of wood chopped and no hours to chop it in, same happened last year so I need to build up a reserve over the summer. Says the girl with 10 free pallets and a stack of wood to chop up outside.

On the plus side the peat keeps teh stove in all night just ticked over the kitchen isn't like the high arctic circle first thing in the morning.

  • I have just realised I have to do a rescue on the spare room as its being occupied tomorrow.

    Whoopsie.

  • Right well I've been having a think. And its a money think so its in red.

I've just read through Martins switching bank guide and decided that if I switch to a bank for o/ds and actively try and reduce this debt that would be a good goal for 2016/17 financial year.

So I've just done all of that and applied for a lower apr credit card with a low limit for emergencies so I can bin my older one with the hideous interest, but its helped me to get a good credit history.

    Small steps.

Also been reading up about SIPPs as this pension thing is really bugging me. So I'm still not sure where to go with any of it but need to do something.

Debts - 2x 1000 overdrafts in full use -one free apr one not - so transferring the not free one to new account if I can.

CC's one totally clear using for groceries/petrol and paying off every month. The other one has just under £2k on it various holiday nonsense and car botheration. Just paid remaining wages for this week to that. Its coming down quickly.

Penguin and I have settled. All gone now. Hoorah.

PPP = 1200 in funds (multiple) with Canada life taken out 21 years ago. See I use to be sensible.

So am really actively paying off over draft (at least one) this year and fathoming way forward with saving in the midst of all this.

Doing a lot of extra womble work the now so its unexpected money i can use to clear the cc.

Money/working is averaging 30 hours a week from self employed. I have asked for a guaranteed 25 from garden and they seem OK with that. Still have 7 hours with wombles. So even if garden drops to 20-25 should be OK.

One kid finishes uni this year. Payments to them might be here (in kind) or stopped. Other kid has 2 years to go but seems to be developing a keen work ethic so we'll see if I need to contribute lots or not so lots.

Household stuff is largely covered by himself I'm responsible for heating and phone/internet.

    Heating c£50+ month
    Phone/BB c£50 per month.

Arent you glad that's out of my noggin.

I need to proactivley fathom ways to reduce the debt and increase the savings once we get there.

  • 4 pallets chopped - three moved to be the new log bins as they're super ace and 3 pallets left to chop. Not bad for an hours work. Also did a basket of kindles.

I know I'm a bit 'post heavy' at the moment but I'm missing you all :)

I've also just caught my breath to think as well having worked cracker jack hours.

Bedroom is vaguely tidy needs new bedding

Mutts fed and need a walk.

Stove ticking over nicely. Think walk bath and then an early night.

Ive twenty crates of snowdrops to dig tomorrow with the digger chap learning the ropes I am.

Happy Easter :) How's your credit record looking? Could you apply for a money transfer card rather than a balance transfer one and use that to pay off both the card and the overdraft?
  • Enjoy time with the family RT and yum to a roast dinner. Passable is perfectly acceptable. Remember we are after progress not perfection :)

How's things in your part of the world Pips? Anything/body end up needing a rescue?
