Congratulations on your anniversary! It was mine yesterday too! (25 years...hubby booked me a surprise day off work, so when I said I have to get up he said 'No you dont'. sadly though with kids and cats I DID still have to get up but we had a lovely day out)
I'm afraid my heating has been on for several weeksCredit Card debt £10247.17 1/1/20200 -
Me too with the heating being on for a few weeks now0

Pips my dear - I think you are made from sterner stuff than the rest of us if you live much further north & still have not turned the heater on! You put the rest of us to shame!!!Pippilongstocking wrote: »NO WOOD - lies down with damp tea towel on head. I'll do you a parcel!
Don't think grates or ash pans are too expensive my stove doens't have a grate...
Oh dear Pips - no need to lie down - I 'forgot' to mention that wood can be had from the farm building across the way for 60GBP for a gigantic bag - the farm hand will chop it down & there are a few different types of wood to choose from - he may even stack it in our shed all neat & tidy if I make him the odd cuppa & some banana bread. He thinks a city girl in the countryside is a real oddity & can't believe I own hiking boots & high heals!
OH did have a good hearty laugh at the thought of you doing us up a parcel of wood though! He said emphatically that all my friends are as daft as I am! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Now considering the man loves me lots, I'm taking that as a complement! I wear my daftness as a badge of honour!!!
Grate & pan can be had for around 40GBP - g00gle told me so!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Morning moonbeams.
For today's mission let's wash our sheets and pillow cases. How long has it been since you have done this? I did this last Thursday because it has gotten colder here, and put my big comforter on our bed. Even my husband says how cozy and comforting the clean smell is! This mission is going to take longer than 15 minutes, so after you change the sheets or while they are washing, sit down and have a few minutes to relax. Pampering is part of FlyLady, too!
Waves to all - busy day yesterday in the city didn't get on but nice to catch up now.

RT eek - I guess those things are heavy and lots of work so they would be expensive. And I would indeed post sticks but do like the sound of the arrangement you have at home.
Also polishes daft badge with pride.
And whilst the 'heating' isn't on, the wood stoves are on most days at least one or tother of them, which I source the wood so I'm only counting the oil heating.
Cheery knows how much I like to burn stuff
Pink happy anniversary 25 years woo hoo. And a surprise day off is lovely even if you did have to get up.
And Beanie I fear if I can't get my lugging boxes strength up then I'm goosed come the time of the snowdrops.
Speaking of snow drops - the first of the autumn/early winter ones at work are out. I have to say they do look bizarre. But cheerful.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

lost my pedometer doing the chickens this morning before 9am. LOL.
Done a whole days work and heard that offhand as a throwaway comment I might not have hours in November or maybe something else or something who knows, just that herself wants to reduce them and have me back at full steam ahead when the season starts in Feb. And I got it from the horses mouth. One voice, she tells me what a splendid job you're doing, second breath by the way we'll have to look at your hours. And by the way are you OK to take on more volunteers and train them up.
*speechless*
Ah the joys of self employment and no contracts.
Initially annoyed, then excited at the prospect of three months gardening at home for myself with no job to interfere. Spoke to my 'boss' who says he'll find out what's really happening.

Just popping in to say that I saw 'The Martian' and enjoyed it a lot. OK so the science is dodgy, and they weren't even proper potato plants, but it was fun -all the budget on CGI and 3D and they can't even get real spuds in!). I loved it when he said 'I should starve but I'm a Botanist!!'. Also, when you have a problem you just have to science the crap out of it. Ridiculous but fun, and Mr Damon did a good job too.Trying to keep in budget.
