That is very exciting :j I've just been browsing the chicken thread actually, pondering if we could manage more beasts. Cats and horses already take up lots of time either side of work.

Thanks for the cordial advice. It's brewing. Possibly a bit sweet, think it needs the citric acid. Next batch

You can add it retrospectively - when I had none (due to trying to buy it down here, where you can't easily get it) I made batches and then 'added' later.

I like the sharpness it adds I think it really accentuates (is that a word?) the flavour and gets rid of that clawy sweetness.

Its a juggle isn't it getting life/work/activity balance right.

    Theres a chicken thread?

    Why am I not surprised.:money:

How many do you have the now?

*** mutters away as wants chooks again ****

 I'll buy half a dozen free range eggs and "accidentally" leave the receipt out so DH can see the price - then he'll realise having chooks again will be worth it.

    Thanks Pip - you're a genius

Add it after I've strained it? Think I might need to order it online. It is lovely anyway but OH doesn't have my sweet tooth :o

We have 3 cats and 3 horses. We'd both love chickens (and dogs!) but need to be sure they don't become just another thing "to do".

Yes chicken thread is on the Old Style board. Called "Hey let's keep chickens" I think.

Whoop, whoop!!! I haven't missed it :j Got back from holibobs just in time, it seems :D

We have had almost 2 weeks of splendid weather and came back to torrential rain & a thunderstorm last night which took off the TV, then the computer, then an electrical circuit on the house...VERY scary :shocked:.... I've dropped DH off at work until 8pm tonight and the roads are awash with floodwater everywhere. I hope your part of the world is escaping it, Pippi, 'cos it sure will frighten the chooks......

BTW I'm enjoying your blog posts immensely....yesterday's was particularly lovely :) Thank you for sharing :)
