Yep, I won't eat out of a tin (well, if I'm in a horrendous rush, I will, with a wooden disposable spoon that I then stick in the dishwasher!) but glass is tres chic
Pippi, its sounding good. I like the sound of your ironmonger having a "help yourself box" - there's a posh shop round here that does that, its very impressive. Mind you, I also like the sound of *having* an ironmonger - I love hand-crafted wrought iron, I really do.
Enjoy your porridge!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Indeed KC - and as long as you wash the spoon its always OK
So two pallets chopped and a couple of branches/odds/sods from garden three wheelbarrows of wood into the shed. Must split some of the big logs later if I get a chance.
Going to work for a bit now the sun's gone in. Had a good walk around the garden, no snowdrops heresad days. Infact not many bulbs at all.
Must sort that out.
Box of kindling chopped as well from shorter bits of pallets.
Lunch was delish omelette and tatties and a dash of spring onion/cheese. I do have leeks must use them up soon.
Used up a frozen chook breast and some chorizo to make Mr Me some lunches next week with some pasta already cooked now boxed and ready to freeze.
Minced up some 39p beef stew into erm, mince and its now slowly cooking down as spag bog
Chooks got an extra feed of lettuce and bread (both reduced) and they rewarded me with 3 eggs.
Bedded them with B&M hay, they seem to like it and its a rather cheap bag.
Applied for a local seasonal job at the organic place about 35 mins from here, not much else around. Nice to be out in the garden today.

Ooh, I've been dreaming of being out in the garden, lovely to hear you talking about bulbs and pottering
We're still under snow, which has now pretty much frozen into a solid lump of ice several inches thick. Certainly won't be doing any digging! Got a monster pile of lilac to cut up and take to the tip, but again it's buried under snow and the back of the car is currently a bed - not a good combination! :rotfl:
:j for eggsand fingers crossed for organicy place job! :j
Guess you never heard back about the ironing?!0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm not sure I've ever been described as 'achingly hip' before :rotfl: :rotfl:
The reality of course is slightly less cool. Mr Cheery bought some 100% extra free, reduced to half price blueberries for £1 yesterday so I've been eating them with every meal before they go off. Stayed up too late then ignored alarm and jumped out of bed 10 mins before due to go out. No time to cook porridge, STILL can't find proper lid to proper tupperware thing, and left emergency one in the office on Tuesday so the only plastic alternative was a takeaway container - far too big and liable to spill yogurt all over me knitting :rotfl:
Then I spied 2 jam jars on the side - both from jars of chutney people gave us (you don't think I actually BUY Bonne Maman jam do you?! I eat jam I've made, or that people have given me, or Tesco Value jam, or nothing at all! :rotfl: ) Couldn't find the lid to the other jar, so grabbed the 'achingly hip' one, laughing at the thought of what I actually looked like on the train with my knitting and my super cool breakfast (which was actually so cold it was hurting my teeth)
Achingly hip indeedLove it

Afternoon peeps!
It has been pouring down here all day, we are literally paddling in the garden. Thank goodness it's brightening up now! Our chickens are not enjoying paddling about. They have been doing well and have laid all through winter (though less than before) but we've had a lot of soft-shelled or thin-shelled eggs and I don't know why - any ideas?
Our latest news is that we've been accepted as 'puppy socialisers' for Dogs for the Disabled and we have our new puppy, a cute golden Labrador who arrived 3 weeks ago and is now 11 weeks old. That means I have even less time for chatting than before of course. If you want to know what he looks like - he's exactly like the Andrex puppy.0
