All I'm saying is that for some reason (and clearly I'm not alone as Soolin refers to someone else) it irks me to see something dispatched Sunday when it is not. It's not tit for tat, or revenge or anything. It's just not perfect.
Words fail me reading this.
Raine E Day, how do you know it's not dispatched on a Sunday? The Post Office near my mother is open on Sunday and no doubt others in major towns are too. So it's very possible to dispatch on a Sunday.
Also, many of my listings end on Sunday morning so I often take them along to the courier parcel shop later in the day then I mark as dispatched. The van collects on Monday. Under your rules should I be marking as dispatched when is see the van pulling away from the shop and driving past my house?
By the way I'm a private seller. To be honest when I buy I look for quality, value and sometimes I look at feedback. I can't remember checking dispatch time. If it hasn't arrived after about 5-6 days I might check and then wait a few more days given the postal system. Then I give 5* if happy with my purchase.
I certainly wouldn't be sitting, as you appear to be doing, with a spreadsheet ticking off to the hour when items are ordered, dispatched and arrive, etc.

Hi,
Just on the subject of people marking people down for dispatching when quite clearly they couldn't have...
My post office is open from 6am to 11pm 7 days a week and 364 days of the year. If something is bought on eBay and paid for I always mark as dispatched and take it straight down the street to the post office. Plus it's much quieter after 8pm!
For those saying it's not possible, it really is.0 -

But hold on........ you are marking as it dispatched before it is at the Post Office - and Raine E Day would mark you down for that!! She only wants a dispatched message when the item is in the hands of the post office.
Some buyers make me want to.... :wall:0 -

Don't forget as well that buyers *know* there is no post or couriers on a Sunday even if depots are early, so that's another star gone.....
As a matter of probably no interest when I got frightened by the sheer nastiness of some buyers posting on here I started sticking stamps on and not marking as dispatched until I got back from the PO. I got a cancellation request from a buyer saying they had found it cheaper so they wanted a refund. I explained that item had been sent and she would need to refuse it on delivery- and she called me a liar as item hadn't been marked as dispatched.
I had to get Dublin to intervene with that one and it ended up with me never getting the item returned, no official cases open and no feedback left at all.
Basically we are lost whatever we do, so anything after 6pm at night I have started printing eBay labels for and emailing my buyers to tell them it will actually go next morning and hoping my buyers have an ounce of common sense between them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Also, serious question, for my smaller items I often put them in a post box at strange times, like 4pm on a Sunday or 11pm at night. As far as I am concerned they are dispatched, or should I stand and wait until the post man clears the box the next day?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Let's hope that someone as petty as this is in the minority Soo.
I actually find it disturbing that someone could be that petty quite frankly.
When I have 50 items to post on a Monday, I pack it put it in the bag and mark it dispatched because, otherwise, how will I know what has been sent. When I am running a house, business and have a young family, spending an additional hour writing down so I can mark it when I get back from the Post Office is madness and a complete waste of my time - and, as they say, time is money.
That poster clearly is a very, very low quantity seller and has no idea about running a business. I sell privately and yes, I could get back when they are all done and are marked as dispatched, but as a business when you have payments and sales coming in every day...... not a chance.
Which reminds me, I forgot to mark mine dispatched yesterday as I went out after doing my post and did not get home to 11pm. Doh!! Now they are going to think they have been sent late. If I had marked them at 11pm and one of them was the OP they could then mark me down on a stars for lying about the dispatch date (as these were items bought up to 3pm yesterday and my cut off is 11am) but they will in fact get them within 24 hours as they were sent in that days post.
Some buyers make this job way too difficult!! They seem to forget they are often buying from one man (woman
) operational businesses with families and homes to run and not some mega multi corporation that has 100 people on standby waiting for the order to be picked. 0
