Charlies mum, just open a second Paypal business account, try putting micro in the paypal email address so you don't mix them up then phone Paypal who apply the micro rate to that account

I never deliver late - but thanks for assuming and writing an whole post based on wrong assumptions :p

But now you've gone to the trouble - do you have a link to low stars for dispatch being removed if left before the ETA?

I was asked by a buyer for next day delivery. I said i can't - and posted as normal. Pos feedback left with a low dispatch - despite posting early and arriving early.

Ebay say its the buyers opinion of dispatch time that counts.

Only the first line was in reference to your post, the rest was general advice for everyone.

If the item wasn't late the customer shouldn't be able to open a case?

If the buyer took more than 3 days to pay the feedback removal policy page says eBay will remove the DSR defect.

If the customer left you positive feedback on or before the ETA this isn't covered by policy but you may find live chat helpful if you say the right things.

For example they may ask if you've contacted the buyer and you say as it seems like a mistake you feel it impolite to point this out to the customer.

In the example you mention you could try under the customer asking for something not in the structured part of the listing, i.e next day delivery

Have you got a link to this as I can't see it in the policy.

  • Hi Soolin

    Feedback that's unrelated to a seller's performance.

Feedback or DSR related defects related solely to:

An item's delivery time, when a buyer paid for an item more than 3 days after a sale was completed. If a buyer is allowed to combine postage on multiple purchases more than 3 days after a sale, this type of Feedback won't be removed.

That hasn't come in yet - think its August when the defect system comes in.

Buyers can currently open cases before the ETA.

'late' is rather subjective, and often a 'late' item isn't late according to the delivery services own service level agreement.

    For example:
Ebay will sell you Royal Mail postage.
Ebay will give the customer an unrealistic delivery estimate for that postage method you've just bought from them.

Ebay will then allow the buyer to open a Case regarding a delivery service purchased from Ebay, with wholly unrealistic delivery estimates given by Ebay, and then penalise the seller for unrealistic estimates Ebay provided, on a delivery service they have sold! You can't make up that sort of double-think crazyness.

    It's absolutely ridiculous.

Buyers can currently open cases before the ETA.

Prior to April 2013 buyers could only open INR cases 3 days after the ETA, after April 2013 eBay stopped counting open cases but allowed customers to open a case the day after the ETA but not before it.

This is what is currently in place, although a while back unpaid items were given ETAs (and orders paid by echeques where given ETAs based on the checkout date rather than when payment cleared) so you could get a INR case for an unpaid item but eBay might have fixed this.

However if your buyer opened a INR case before the ETA had past you should phone CS and ask why as it's an error.

This all applies to eBay cases only.

What you say is correct but irrelevant, if the ETA passes and the customer doesn't have their order then it's late as far as this system is concerned.

It is of course absolutely ridiculous but as some sellers are reporting seeing 2nd class post reduced from 2-3 days to just 2 days, depending upon the buyer's location apparently, it appears eBay aren't listening.

Item bought last night at approx 11.10pm 1 working day dispatch 2nd class. I printed off an eBay label this morning and got a warning that 2 nd class postage would not meet the buyers expectation of delivery Thursday/Friday
