Moving to Birmingham

I would say the best place not too far from Bromford Lane is Sutton Coldfield, it is expensive but should get a flat there for within £600 per month, would say this would be better and more cost effective than going out to Lichfield.
These flats in Sutton Coldfield and nice and in a good spot

Lichfield is nice, but a bit of a drive.
I suggest he go for professional house share in Sutton Coldfield to start with. House share usually with 6 month contract. He will be looking at £400 - 500 with all bill inclusive. It is a good way to save money, make friends and knowing the area.0 -

We've been told by a few people about Sutton Coldfield, also alot of people have said to move out of Birmingham and suggested Lichfield.
Litchfield? A suggestion by someone who has no idea of geography.
Look at his workplace, draw a circle say 5 miles around it then look at places with train access to the city centre, for when he does want to go into the city, then work out what is a good area. As people have said start looking at Sutton Coldfield and surrounding areas. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Hi, he could try Sheldon or Yardley very to close to Castle Bromwich or Solihull but more expensive. Always manic driving around there though because near to motorway. You could look at Birmingham Gumtree website for accommodation.
Good luck0 -
I would have to agree with other's Sutton Coldfield is a lovely area, however there are some parts of Sutton I would not live, I suppose that is like any City. Where Winger14 has suggested is good nice and quiet.
I doubt you would get a house rental for £600, but a flat I can't see any problem.0 -
Bourneville is very pretty. A kind of 'village' type place. Not too rowdy either as their are few (if any) pubs, and there are a number of older people who have been their donkeys years.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BournvilleProud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
You're not singing anymore........ You're not singing any-more!

How will he get to work? Will he drive, or need to use public transport?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

If he's 24 I wouldn't bother with Lichfield! It's nice, but I should think he'd benefit from the city. South Birmingham as a whole is nicer than North, everyone's suggested Sutton which is definitely the nicest part of that side.
The other option is somewhere bang in the city centre for flat living and nightlife. There's sooo many flats to let, he could get a good deal. He'll also drive against the traffic in the mornings. When does he move?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sutton Coldfield / Mere Green / Four Oaks would be my suggestions.0

Transport would be a key issue. Bromford Road is a long road, but the number 11 circular bus goes along there, so can be accessed from many parts. Sutton Coldfield is definitely the nicest part of Brum on that side, but therefore more expensive. Slightly closer to town, somewhere like Pype Hayes, is also between Sutton Coldfield and Bromford Road. Driving in from Sutton Coldfield in the morning is horrendous.0
