Hiya,

I hope someone can help, my son 24 is moving to Birmingham in the next few months to work and is looking for somewhere to live/rent.

He is born and bred of the welsh valleys and will be working somewhere near Castle Bromwich (not Edgbaston - kids).

We have tried to research the area but are finding it difficult, we've come up with Selly Oak so far.

Thank you all for reading. :)

Is he looking for house share or rent a flat himself?

Don't go selly oak, too many student there. Also avoid ladywood and Gillott road

If he work at edgbaston, find somewhere south of hagley road within Edgbaston/ Harborne, or may be Moseley. But these area could be slightly expensive

What part of Edgbaston ? ( it is a big area which borders some nice places and some not so nice )
How will he be travelling to work ?
I agree to avoid Selly Oak

Vernon Road and around that area of Edgbaston is a really nice residential area with some lovely properties. You also get a lot for your money and many young professionals live there.

Many thanks for your replies, hes just told me he'll be working near Castle Bromwich, "Bromford Lane" (Edgbaston was interview!! kids).

He'll be driving so distance is not too much of an issue.

Rent on his own and would prefer a house.

Driving no issue, but traffic Jam in Birmingham is the issue!
Sutton Coldfield is nice if you got money.

Yeah he went up last week for drive around and stay up there for a few day, he said that it was manic driving!! Lol.
We've been told by a few people about Sutton Coldfield, also alot of people have said to move out of Birmingham and suggested Lichfield.
