well, i just checked 'find lowest fares' from stansted to trieste on weds 3rd oct and returning the 10th and it comes up with a load of reg fares for 0.01p and when you choose a flight, it's totalling the 0.02 including taxes and fees. so not free, but 2p!!0

Just booked a day trip to Italy in September for £0.02p.0
 -
You'll get your 2p refunded at the airport.
As someone said above it's REG FARES that have no tax, not WEB FARES.0 -

I've just realised, there's a bit more to this offer than it appears at first glance. Firstly, there's a shedload of free destinations from Dublin which aren't free from the UK airports. You could, however, buy a free ticket from your local airport to Dublin, and another free ticket from Dublin to wherever you wanted to end up. This is Ryanair, and they wouldn't compensate you if you missed the connection because the first flight was late, so take travel insurance if going for this idea!
Second, some destinations seem to have free tickets available for flights to the UK, but aren't listed for free flights from the UK (I spotted Brno, Maribor and Vienna, but I'm sure there's more). To get these, you need to book a return from wherever you want to go to the UK (the first flight being before you need to go, and the return for when you want to leave the UK), and then a separate single flight for you to get back to the UK. Then phone Ryanair and cancel the flight you won't be using. Most airlines wouldn't let you do this, but it's ok on Ryanair.
In order to check which destinations have free flights available to the UK, you need to change which country's site you're in. There's a dropdown in the top right hand corner of the site to do this. The eastern European countries are all in English, but the western European countries are in their native languages. The site is the same format for each one, so shouldn't be too hard to find your way around!0
